Ridiculed Due to Religion

Why do people make fun of others because of their religion? Shouldn't you respect someone else's religion? I, personally, am a Pagan Jew ((That is, I am both Jewish and Pagan )) and I feel that these two religions get a lot of hassel. Pagan are often looked upon as evil witches while Jews are looked upon as people who should convert. I'm only bring this up because of the problems at school with it. So what's up world? Why do you bash people for their religion?

Its because of the fact that people are raised a certain way and/or they are not open minded. There are also many stereotypes. Most people are raised to believe that what they are taught is right and that other religions are inferior or wrong.

Hmph. Making fun of people about their religion is just stupid! Just ignore them, no matter what it's about. If they keep it up, tell an adult. If they still don't stop... well, I don't know. Most people quit if you just ignore them.

I don't really understand what you're getting to, Remedy.

But yeah. I have people at my school making fun of Jews, and their religion (but it's really nothing new about my school). Even though I'm not a Jew, it still bothers me to see people who are arrogant, and have little or no respect for what people believe in, and how they're brought up. All I can say about this is that it's just cruel to see people just being insulting to others.

There are many reasons why they would do this:

• feel insecure about themselves so make an excuse to bully you
• they are threatened by you
• they do not understand fully
• they are prejudiced against your religion

and the list will go on, many people have reasons for doing something like that. Anyways you should just ignore it, or if they really get on your nerves then give em a whack...that'll give them something to think about. But yeah it is up to you...I would seriously kick their A$$ cause I dislike those kind of people but meh.

I think pretty much everyone has stated the primary reasons already: stereotypes. I get it a little bit for being a Christian, but its more in jest than anything else and I don't really mind.

Assuming that is a rhetorical question and you actually mean to say that Jews should be frowned upon for that and following the same line of reasoning, "but what is wrong with Americans, they kill lots of convicted murderers but those murderers themselves are American."

Note: I don't want this to be a war on religion just a where people get the right to make fun of yours.

I am a Christian and my church teaches contrary to those kids at school. If you are in another religeon, you should be nice to pagans, jews, ect. Being mean to them shuns them away from your religeon and you as a person.

P.S. The jews did kill Jesus. Pontius Pilot said," I am clean of this man's death." The Jews replied," Let His blood be on us and our people." If you think I'm wrong, look up Matthew 28 or something. I know its in there. MAybe its in Luke?

Any talk of the Jews having killed Jesus is highly dangerous, esspecially when you consider how much of a propaganda tool the Bible is. Anyway, as much of an agnostic as I am, you shouldn't mock others due to their religion. Just get a wit as dry as Oscar Wilde and intellectually whoop those kids assess. well, probobly for the same reason as I'va had to take a lot of crap from religious people because I'm an atheist, it all comes down to people not being able to tolerate what they don't understand, what's different from themselves.

Because the majority of peoples religion are very strict, and its very hard for people who follow a strict religion to respect other peoples religion. Because to them, they're defying there religion, and commiting a sin.

And some people are just stupid and nasty, and incredibly racist. Even if they don't really follow a religion themselves.
