Masturbation (Bad or Good)

I know that I rarely post disturbing topics, but I am very curious about this.

The other day I overheard these two guys arguing over Masturbation. One of the guys said that it was healthy and good for the body, while the other one said it was bad, and is a sin!

Im afraid to ask my parents as I dont like talking about this to my family....Anyway is this healthy or a sin? Please excuse me for such a ludicrous topic, but I just wanted to know....

Well, I don't see how it is healty considering it doesn't make you healthier. But, at the same time it doesn't make you less healthy. Meh, I guess it is just neutral in the health department.

I heard it is a sin, but don't quote me on that.

I beleive studies show that those who masturbate have better sex lives etc. etc. Masturbation allows you to be in touch with your body, know your likes dislikes, what works for you, so that later, when you start becoming sexualy active, your partner will see you as confident and experienced.

Now, masturbation is a "sin" in the bible for the very reason why it exsists, it feels great, it's one of the best sexual personal experiences ever when your partner can't be with you. But of course, masturbation is easily abused, VERY easily abused, that is why masturbation is a sin, just like many other addictive aspects of life, drug abuse, smoking, etc.

So dude, it's ok to masturbate once in a while, I'de say once every couple of days, or everyother day. I'de say one of the best reasons to masturbate is to stop wet dreams, because I remember when I was a kid and I'de wake up feeling horrible that my sheets were "tainted", having to take the walk of shame down to the laundry room. So um.. save laundry water, get masturbating!

Masturbation is great! Simple. As for being healthy, the only thing I've heard of is the offchance that it can help prevent prostate cancer. Which is a good thing, no?

And while many consider it a sin... eh... get over yourself people. Sure it feels well, but is doing it every night SOOO bad?

Now, 6 times a day IS bad, but just once or twice a day? Please.

Oh they were probably argueing in the locker room, and by abuse I mean spending every second you have alone with your pants down and a tissue in your hand, doens't matter what time it is, or where you are.

Well, I say that everybody (who has struck puberty at least) has masturbated AT LEAST once in their life. I don't think when your friend said it was healthy, he actually meant healthy like you lose weight and lower your cholesteral (sp?) It is a good thing to do so you'll get used to when you mate with your partner and it gives you practice.

The sin about it is that when you masturbate, you've just wasted good sperm. You do it just for the heck of it being pleasurable and good feeling, not to create a life. I guess in my eyes, when you masturbate, you've just killed what could've been the next president of the US or a future programmer for a Zelda game or something. That's why we're so lucky to be alive. We could've been the wasted sperm that disolved in our paren'ts bedsheets,(wow that feels weird to say).

Masturbation doesn't make you healthy, but it isn't a sin, either. It's something, as Vacumgod has already put it (really, I am starting to think we see eye to eye on a lot of things) that gives you a bit more expirience when you start up a real sex life, so your partner can see that you're a bit more confident in your abilities.

There's nothing wrong with it. It being a "sin" is utterly ludicrous, to me. Another reason why I don't follow the Bible on everything it says.

Sorry, but I see no logic whatsoever in your reasoning, your forgetting wet dreams, so basically, until we have sex, masturbating or not, sperm will be "wasted".
I'm sure that if wasting sperm was a reason for masturbation to be a sin, then there would be some type of ceremony that abolishes all committed sin between your first wet dream, and your last, but of course, there isn't.

actually, masturbation is good for you. it's a major stress reducer and has been shown to greatly reduce tension. this is in addition to the things vacumgod said. I think if you have no problems with the idea of sex, you should have no problem with masturbation either. there are no health dangers with masturbation either.

in that case, stepping outside in winter or summer is a sin. so is wearing underwear that's too tight. we have millions and millions of sperm.

Well as for the health aspect of things I don't think that it will help you, but as SS said about the prostate cancer thing it could help. As a matter o fact I think I did hear that somewhere before that a masterbation does tend you keep you away from nasty things like prostate cancer so in that reguard it is good.

Also as hab plainly stated I think just about everyone unless they have been living in a bubble away from soceity has masterbated at least once. So IMO there is nothing wrong with it, just don't let it get out of hand, and lets try to keep stuff like this private people there is no reason for some one to be doing such an act out in public.

I'm not saying that that's what I believe, I'm saying from a point of view why people think of it as a sin. I guess it could be a sin to masturbate for the soul purpose of showing disrespect to God or some crap like that, but if that was the case, then getting a vecectome (sp?) would be a sin too which sounds just as retarded.

I believe when you're 14 and under (don't trust me on that), if it's done too much, it'll somehow damage your penis in the future, because it (and the sperm release function) aren't fully developed yet, and when overused it causes problems. I think that's correct, but I'm not entirely sure.

For me, I do it once in a while, but I don't make it a major habit of mine, not like I even want to make it that often. I'm not sure how 'sinful' it is or not, because the part of the Bible where it's stated as wrong is in Leviticus, I believe (or Numbers, or Deuteronomy), the books that contain the 612 Laws for the Jews. Many of these laws, of course, were negated by Jesus, so I'm undecided on how moral it is or not. My bottom line is that if you do it, God won't throw you into hell for it. I just don't like it being done every waking hour to find a way to pleasure oneself.

This is very true. I used to sully a lot of underwear that way. I mean, what did my underwear ever do to me? Maybe it gave me a wedgie once, but does it really deserve that?

If you didn't do it at inappropiate times or places, I do not see how it can be a sin. To me, its like saying sex is a sin (I know premarital ses is). If masturbation keeps you satisfied until you do get married, isn't it helping you out?

Masturbation reliefs stress and that's a proven fact, and please people let's be real if you have masturbated before you can't deny that it feels good and we all have our lonely nights lol, as for the sin part, yes it is considered a sin to the Christian church, why??? because you're not exactly thinking about your school work when you do it, unless you're really really and I mean REALLY weird.

I feel so ignorant, but I shall share my views on this.

I have never mastubated before, despite being sixteen, but I agree that it is good for you, on the medical grounds that it is shown to reduce the chances of prostate cancer, which I believe we are all in agreement that that is a VERY GOOD THING.

However, it can be addictive, let us not forget the American Dad episode where Stan became addicted and couldn't stop. Given the chance, you could spend life with on hand on your pants, which would be greatly embarressing. Like I spend my life with a Dr. Pepper can.

So, in short, it feels good but don't overdo it. And remember, though the bible says it may be a sin, it also says that molesting children is evil. If priests can ignore the Bible's rules, I see no reason why a man cannot fire of some knuckle children in the privacy of his next door neighbor's living room because I don't have a DVD player. Felt like ripping off Family Guy there.

sorry, but no damage has ever been reported by masturbation at a young age. there's absolutely nothing about it that causes damage, unless you do it so often that you wear out the skin on your penis. I met a guy who ripped his foreskin zipping up his fly once, and now he needs surgery. but that's the only thing I've heard of, and it was when he was with his girlfriend too...
