Question are we christians "sugarcoating" chritianity?

first i would like to say that its not like im going to permit non christians into this forum. but only if you have a serious view about what you think about the subject.

with that said. have you noticed that alot of churches have been trying to avoid the subject of hell? when people talk about hell does it send kind of a chill down your spine, and you quickly try to change the subject? when a pastor talks about the need to evangelise....do you leave the room?

what we are experiencing is what Jesus mentioned in the bible (i dont actually know who it was for sure, but i think it was Jesus), thou shalt not take away from or add to the word. we see this with gay christians who try to deny that what they are doing is wrong, and churches who try to "soften up" messages of christ to bring in more people. many christians dismiss this as nothing, but it is very very extreme.

do you tink that christians are trying to make christianity bend to their liking? or do you think that its all in our heads and nothing s happening? i belive that there is something horrible among chritians today, like a snake, biting at our feet. we dont want to belive what God says, so we just dont. its not a laughing matter, its very serious.

Re: are we christians "sugarcoating" chritianity?

My view on this is that, a lot of christians today arent christian by the chruch definition. A lot of people that say they are christians, that go to church every sunday, arent really being full with love and forgiveness for people. I mean obviously theres more to it, but there are a lot of racisist and anti (insert something here, there are a lot of anti things today), a lot go to church thinking they are saved from hell, but go out and do exactly what they are not supposed to be doing.

So i personally dont think that there are many chruchs that are "softening" up or "bending" the "rules", its more like they arent following the "rules" them/itself.

indeed, but what im saying is some people dont like to mention hell and satan etc. because they dont want to evanglise or be threatened. thats my main focus here.

ah sorry to have sounded like a "prick" um and to comment on that, i know what you mean. There are a lot that dont like to hear about hell and such. But denying something doesnt mean that it might not happen. It shouldnt be "bent" to make people feel better, because like it or not, things are happening that arent to "great", and people cant just go on living life with the mentality that nothing bad is going to happen.

Re: are we christians "sugarcoating" chritianity?

Yes, it does get sugar-coated. When someone says "Become a Christian and all your troubles will be over", that's wrong. We get trials, hardships, persecution. And then when the people who thought it would be easy get these hardships they quit, because they were told they wouldn't get any by sugarcoating preachers who don't want to be persecuted by those psychotic anti-preaching atheists who run around everywhere.

There's also the matter of teaching about Hell. It exists, but many preachers are afraid to talk about it in case those soft people leave, or those emo non-Christian people who catch hold that we think they're going there start complaining that they're getting harrassed. So these preachers are forced to try and twist the bible into modern politically correct ways which it was never meant to be.
