Bann Christmas ????

Ok i just saw on Fox News Live that there is this person who wrote a book on banning Christmas. I guess it is a biger thing than everyone realized. I am really pissed off. I am so sick and tired of hearing people complaing about things like this. Just because it is not in you religion does not mean you have to get rid of it. Cuz guess what it is in someone elses religion. It is like telling someone to change a part of their religon just because it is making someone mad that we celebrate on that day. Well other religons have hollidays too and you dont here me complaining. I would never in my life even think about telling someone not to celebrate their religous holliday just because it is not in my religion. And if by some chance Christmas does get banned i expect every religious holliday gone as well. But im praying that does not happen. This is sad just sad people.

I want to konw your oppinions on this matter do you think christmas should be banned just because others do not celebrate it. And if anyone has any more information on this person who wrote this book on banning christmas please tell me cuz i want to know more.

Exactly. Whatever happened to the times when things like religon in schools and saying the pledge in class did not matter. I just don't understand the nerve of some people.

Another thing is that these people are like dedicated and using most of their time trying to figure out a way to bann chrismas. Why dont they dedicate their time to other things that really matter. Like getting rid of cigaretts. I know to all those who smoke out there that that is going to make you mad. I fully understand. But cigaretts are really bad for you and you cant tell me they are not. They just pollute so bad.

[edit] Haven't found it, but found a bunch of stuff about how Fox News takes minor incidents and hypes them to apocalyptic proportions to furthur the cultural divide between red/blue. Something to think about. Apparently Bill O'Reilly started a crusade last year to Save Christmas from Evil Secularists Who Shouldn't Live in This Damn Country if They Can't Get Into Jesus.

I also found a very interesting article from a Christian group suggesting a ban because of how far the holiday has come from God. That, I can understand.

I would too. I just saw a bit of it on tv today. The Fox News Live channel. I only saw a bit of it then i had to leave. I was wondering if anyone else heard about it. I just could not believe my ears that there is someone out there that wrote a book on the subject. But i do agree with u pipking about the ban on hysterical stupidity.

So the deal is a group of christians were dreading having to pay so much money for gifts during the holiday season, they decided that christmas was a cmmercialized basterdation of a very religious holiday, so they decided not to simply not celebrate with gifts but to deny everyone elses right to by shutting down supermarkets before christmas. This is stupid, it infringes on a persons right to carry out what has become traditional to them. Jehova's Witnesses do not celebrate Jesuses birthday with gifts and thats fine with me, at least they dont try to stop everyone else from doing just that. Remember this is only happening in Europe so i wouldnt fear it happening in America or even succeding in Europe.

It might be them but im not sure. My jaw just droped when i heard it. Your right the ban of Christmas most likely will not happen. I have an idea lets ban people who cant afford christmas gifts. JK. But christmas is not all about gifts anyways. It is also about family. I just dont understand people. Just because something does not work out for them they dont want it to work out for anyone.

The day christmas is banned because it offends someone of a different faith I will protest against their religious holidays. If you don't agree with it than don't celebrate it. End of.

I bet some people just hate packaged ketchup sooooo badly that they want to ban it. People are crazy. That is the truth. Now i ask why everybody is making such a huge deal of this. It's just a nobody that will get nothing done. And why do you think it's gone so far from god? Because of people that want to stop christmas. Its becaume more of a non religious holiday so everybody can celebrate it. Which i suppose i can understand. But people tend to celebrate it for what they think of it. I don't view Christmas as a type of religion. In fact, I view it as a wonderful holiday to celebrate. It's one of the rare days where you wake up in the early morning with a hot cup of coffee and snow outside, and all of your family members are with you for the entire day. Why view it as a type of religion? That person who wrote the book was probably lonely and he was just jealous of ones that have someone to keep them company.

Its not like they are gonna have people running in your house on Christmas day to see if you are 'celebrating' it.

Besides, even if they did ban it, I would still be able to celebrate it for its religious purposes. You cant ban Christmas. Its literally impossible. You can take it off in the little corner of the calander box, but you cant get rid of it. Its stupid really. Christmas is not gonna get banned people.

Like DekuQueen said, No one has the right to ban Christmas. That would vilolate are Freedom of Religion. You dont see any Christians or Catholics trying to ban Hannukah or any other religions holidays, do you? Some people have nothing better to do with there life but complain about stupid things. People need to get a freakin' life,seriously.

While we are at it we should ban rhamadon, and chaunakuh. Just to make things fair, like how that personal wants to remove Christian influence in a holiday which is greatly paganized by the comercial world.

Christmas is overly commercialized and shouldn't exist in places like schools, but I can't stop it. No one can stop Christmas.

[prepare for a post that seems off topic, but really does apply to the subject at hand and isn't just a Miniblin rant]

At my school, some teachers like to incorporate Christianity into their teaching. My English teacher likes to claim the Bible is pure fact and acts as though everyone knows about everything in the Christian religion, when I know only the basics. She also seems to believe paganism doesn't exist so she freely insults it and mocks it. My History book last year praised Christianity, listing reasons why it's great, such as "A loving God" (what major religion doesn't have a loving God?) and acted as though Muslims were all terrorists, ignored Buddhists, forgot Jews, and treated Hinduism as an outdated mythology like ancient Greek religions.

So you can imagine there's a bit of Christmas stuff going on in the school, and I feel excluded. I don't "get in the Christmas spirit" or sing jingles or get many presents (only from my Christian cousins, but its not much), and people pity me. When I say I'm not Christian during the Christmas time, they give me a look like they're sorry for me. The school tries to mask the festivities with a "h
