Marijuana - Good or bad?

8bit: well what else should I say? I mean if a person rapes a girl that's a mistake because it breaks the law. So if you break the law then you make a mistake which remains smoking pot is a mistake. Not to offend anyone but technically it is so long as it's illegal.

I fail to understand exactly how doing something unlawful is immediately deemed a mistake. Most would say rape is terrible and a mistake for the amount of harm it can create, combined with lack of consent, not because it is unlawful.

I would rather you say that breaking the law is breaking the law. Doing just that implies no inherent negative value, as a law can be broken for totally just reasons, as far as an individual can deem them.

As an example, consumption of Marijuana is illegal in my country, yet I consume it anyway. It helps to allieviate mild anxiety but for the most part the use is recreational. Nonetheless I regard this as a positive act and no mistake, because it harms nobody, and improves my quality of life.

For myself it is more a personality trait that I can live with rather than a problem. I certainly don't need Marijuana medicinally, hence my description of 'mild' and my use as 'for the most part recreational'. But I find it's effects quite fitting for my personality type.

Nonetheless it does not matter. I firmly believe that recreational use alone is already justified, as it harms nobody, provides benefits, and as a side note the minimal potential health risks are essentially due to more harmful methods of consumption which I don't advocate.

The only "harmful" part of Marijuana is the smoke, which can be negated with Vaporizers.

There really is no reason for it to be illegal. Stoned people are peaceful, funny and (sometimes) insightful. If everyone who got drunk in American got stoned instead, well, it'd be a better place to live in.
