SUPER SERIOUS: CANCER!!!!!!!!

Imagine this.

A team of doctors (About 30 people and 1 top doctor) are researching cancer.

each doctor gets 1 rupee per hour.

A guy donates to their research , which makes hourly income , 2 rupees.

Eventually , the doctors are getting 4 rupees , hourly.
So the guy at the head office realizes that he will get more money if he cuts off some of the people , thus allowing everyone to get 6 rupees per hour.
So then the head guy says "HEY , we don't need you guys anymore" , so he fires a bunch of doctors.

The research donation goes way up , and everyone gets 10 rupees an hour.
The head doctor guy then says "I need you guys to stop working" , so he fires even more people.
The rate is 14 rupees an hour , and he is very happy.


If this happened within real life , then wouldn't donating to cancer research actually make doctors have to get fired , therefore making the chances of curing cancer lower?

I know nothing of the profession.
And scientists are probably the ones researching cancer , not doctors.
I don't know anything about cancer or medicine , so don't point and laugh at me.

People getting fired and donations are two separate issues.

Getting donations doesn't get people fired.

I cause cancer. There, are you happy? Cat's out of the bag.

I think the doctors stand to make a lot more money by actually doing some successful research which they need a lot of doctors to do.

I don't see how in your premise the donation or lack of donations causes a reduction in labor force, initially the pay is 30 rupees overall, then 60 after the donation... if the head guy were truly evil, he'd just skim the entirety of the donation. Also donations USUALLY go to more productive organizations so it'd be in the head guy's interest to maintain a productive workforce.

Donating money doesn't mean people get paid more. It goes towards better equipment, and money to hire more researchers. The researchers don't just get paid more, that wouldn't accoplish anything.
