It reminds me of the village from "The Village". The Kokiri Forest was a safe haven until the GDT died. Then it let in all sorts of evil things, like giant Deku Babas and Deku Scrubs and Skulltulas....

Actually, the Kokiri don't become skull children. Only those without fairies get either: 1. Turned into a skull kid, or 2. Turned into a Stalfos

I do agree with the part about the getting killed...
