Dythren's Training

OoC: Here you go, hope you enjoy Connor.

BiC: The silent wind blew across the flourishing forest with a gentle touch, swaying the leaves only slightly as they hung from their great branches. The air filled with loud roaring as the nearby waterfall continued to spew water crashing down unto sharp rocks below. As the ancient forest danced with the wind and sung with the water, a new sound began to come closer and closer, soon over-powering even the mighty waterfall’s cry. The ringing noise of weapons clashing echoed underneath horrid screeches from a creature clearly not of this world, the very trees themselves seeming to moan in agony at the horrid sound.

Dythren grunted as he swung Hepyn, taking the head off a Chaos follower whom had summoned a small brigade of demons shortly before. The young man eyed each of the horrors carefully, seeing nothing particularly unique or dangerous from this summoning. The disgusting pink and blue creatures continued to screech as limbs and mouths changed in number and location due to the warped nature of such monsters. The small force slowly began to congregate towards one another, fusing into a large ball of unstable Chaotic energy.

“Well, this is certainly new…” Dythren commented to himself as the wriggling mass of energy began to expand, quickly turning red and sprouting black fur as it soon outgrew the aged trees.

The massive ball quickly developed two massive wings, flying a few yards above the ground before it landed on large, black hooves. Two bulging arms smashed out of the ball, red flesh harder then stone pulsing with demonic energies. The constantly squirming mass of Chaos then expanded to such lengths that it burst, dissipating as black smoke that left behind a monster of ridiculous proportions.

Dythren’s eye twitched as the bull-headed demon roared, snatching a fraction of the black smoke and forming a great axe the size of the trees surrounding the two. The young warrior, swiftly deciding he was in no condition to battle a Greater Demon, turned the other way and sprinted as fast as he possibly could away from the massive servant of the dark god. The demon reared its horned head back and bellowed a mighty roar before it chased after the young human with massive steps, smashing aside trees as it pursued its prey.

“Of all the cursed things I could run into, a Bloodthirster?” Dythren cried out to no one in particular as he looked for some way to escape the Avatar of War.

The young warrior felt his blood run cold with fear as a massive axe swooped over his head, narrowly missing him and leveling the forest around him. The human felt his legs growing tired, but he kept running in hope that he might discover a small space that the Greater Demon could not fit into. He briefly looked behind him, just in time to jump before a clawed, red fist crushed the spot where he had been only seconds before. The demon, thinking it had squished him, carefully examined its hand in proof that the enemy was no longer alive which gave Dythren the moment he needed to escape.

“There!” He whispered out loud, sprinting for a crack in a cliff wall beneath the waterfall that a human could easily squeeze into.

As the human bolted from the forest, the Bloodthirster realized his prey still lived and let out an enraged roar as it charged. Dythren put all of his energy into the final moments of his sprint away from death, able to hear the rough breathing of the enormous demon pursuing him. The human, seeing a giant shadow cover him, made a desperate leap of faith towards the crack, closing his eyes in fear of how narrow this chase would end.

An explosion of rocks and dirt covered the cliff as the Greater Demon had put all of its unholy strength into one final blow. The weapon, leaving a horrid rent in the rock, would forever mark the Bloodthirster’s presence. Believing his prey crushed deep within the stone, the demon cried out a final, satisfied roar before black fire consumed it and returned it to the demented Realm of Chaos.

Dythren whispered every curse word he had ever known as he clung to the wet rock beneath him, his legs still twitching from the fear-inspired sprint. As the human slowly regained his composure and strength, he leaned against the rock wall and stood up slowly; examining the cave he had dived into. Much to his surprise, a door stood before him in the soaked cliff, the roaring of the waterfall driving out any thoughts Dythren might have attempted to think. With shaking, tense hands he reached out and opened the door.
