[Awbri] Zeeku's Training
Zeeku had been traveling for days. He was tired, and he was hungry, his empty pack flopped against his back with every step he took. At least he wasn’t hot or thirsty; he had pulled some water from a stream that morning and had kept hovering next to him. It took most of his focus to do, but he figured that if something attacked he would be able to drop the water and be prepared for a fight. He thought back to last week.
While passing through a small town, he noticed a flyer for their annual tournament. Naturally, he signed up, not for the 1,000 G prize, but for the challenge and glory of it all. The next day, the tournament had began. He had made his way up to the final round, him against some big muscled guy who looked too pumped to even move. Too easy, Zeeku thought. Another muscle head. Lacking in speed, lacking in brains, this will be over quickly. Zeeku didn’t know how wrong he was. The man moved with near blinding speed, Zeeku could hardly keep up with his movements. He pulled some water out of the air and formed it into a ball. He attempted to hit the muscle bound fighter, but each time he would miss by a hair’s breadth. Suddenly the man appeared right in front of Zeeku’s face. “You’re good, but I’m better, meet me after the tournament is over at the nearest pub.” And with that, he proceeded to toss Zeeku out of the ring, thus ending the match. Zeeku slipped out of the tournament area as soon as he could, head down like a dog that had been beaten too much.
He was torn between going to the pub or just leaving town. The muscle guy may actually have some good advice, or he might just want to gloat about beating me in front of his friends, Zeeku thought. Ah, I might as well go and meet him; I don’t have anything better to do. It turned out that the nearest pub was right across the street from where the tournament was held, so with a deep breath, Zeeku went in. He was immediately assailed by smells, most of them unpleasant, and a shout of “Drinks on the house!” From a man at the counter. He immediately realized that it was the man who had beaten him. The man noticed him, too. “Well if it isn’t Mr. Second Place, come here, have a drink.” Zeeku sat up at the counter, and the barman slid him a frosty mug of the local drink. Not knowing what it was, Zeeku didn’t have too much of it. “My name is Tom by the way, Tom Missoula.” Zeeku started to introduce himself, but Tom stopped him. “You’re Zeeku, yes, I know who you are. We’ve been watching you for a while; you have talent and ability, so we’ve decided to invite you to the Dome.” Zeeku was flustered. “What who are ‘we,’ what is this Dome, where is it?” “I can only answer a few of your questions, the rest will be learned with time. The Dome is the ultimate training facility for warriors. Its location is infinite; it’s anywhere you want to be and more. But you just can’t stumble onto it, you have to be invited. Now we’ve noticed your skill and we want you to come train with us. Hone your abilities, become the best you can be. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Now for you, the Dome is about I’d say 100 miles that way,” he said, pointing west, “now if you load up on supplies and leave now you’ll get there in a little under a week. Just go into the woods and you’ll find it, big white dome, can’t miss it. Oh, and tell them I sent you.” Zeeku thanked his new acquaintance for the information, got some supplies from the general store and left.
Fast forward to now. Zeeku wondered if the man had been some crazy buff guy who likes to send people on weird quests as a joke. He was about to turn around and try to head back when he saw it above the tree filled horizon. The Dome, in all its glory. He broke into a run, hoping that there would be food and rest inside. He was about 100 yards from the entrance, when he heard a rough, gravely voice. “HALT!” It commanded. “State your name.” Zeeku summoned up the courage to respond. “My name is Zeeku.” “And who sent you?” The gravely voice inquired. “Tom Missoula.” Zeeku responded. “In order to enter the Dome, you must pass through me, that is your entrance exam.” And then Zeeku saw where the voice was coming from. A twenty foot tall lava demon. “Oh come on!” Said Zeeku, relieved, “You guys expect this to be hard?”
The mist began to form in Zeeku’s eyes; his face went cold and serious. He gauged his opponents speed and strength from its movements. Finding it to be as he thought, he sprang into action. Using the water that he had been controlling at his side, he used most of it to hit the key parts of the demon. The joints, the eyes, and the mouth. Upon contact with the water, the demons body started to solidify into rock. Using the leftover water to form a sword, Zeeku jumped into the air, coming down upon the demon’s head, slicing him cleanly in two. “Never underestimate the power of water.” Zeeku said, falling to his knees in exhaustion.
After a brief rest, Zeeku got back up, and with slow determined steps, walked to the entrance of the Dome. It was a large white double door, with the words “If you enter now, there is not turning back.” Inscribed upon them in huge flowing letters. Summoning up his courage, Zeeku pushed the door open.
OoC: I'm pretty sure this is riddled with mistakes (just like me,) but I tried "really hard" and ended up 5 words shy of doubling the minumum. Lol, if could have done this to my character, I'm sure it would have been approved much earlier.
