Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

OOC: Sorry Madam.

The heat of the Haunted Wasteland consumed Irva as she skillfully plodded forward in the baked sand being wary of the hot granules penetrating her thick leather boots. A updraft of wind swept up her dress to cool her body. This heat was not new to her, for she had grown up in the desert and the gerudo fortress. Even if she did not look it, Irva was a gerudo. It was just that the strong shiekan blood giving to her by her father dulled it slightly. She looked around her red curly tresses twirling and flipping around. A faint outline appeared to her west, the magic carpet was seen floating toward her it's poe operator boucing as it flowed over the turbulance the winds created with their varying temperatures. It came to a halt not but thre feet from her, the golden tassles at its corners pinning wildley kicking up a small shower of sand that almost floated into the unprotected eyes of Irva.

"Irvanna, your mother says demands your presense imediatly." the poe said with a thick desert accent slurring his Rs and Ds into one duale purpose letter.
"Well then you can take me right?" she asked knowing that the poe will probabley refuse.
"No" he said as expected, "I sense more travlers, you may walk home or risk taking the Lost Woods short cut." Then with a wave he was away flying close to the dunes so not to be buffeted by the wind.
"Fine then.." she quaffed turning around walking back the way she had came to the Dessert Collossus and it's near by entrance to the Lost Woods. It took her only moments to reach her destination, for the meeting with the Poe had occured only about a half mile in from of the entrance she had left only minutes before. So she only had to go almost all the way back to the Collossus then follow a rock wall to a cave. In the cave there had once been a fairy fountain but now there was just a cavernous jut in the wall were it's back had been, leading to the Lost Woods. Irva slipped through the opening in the wall and into the bedazzling Lost Woods.

Momentarily Irva was lost, this bolder had never before occupied this place next to the portal, or had a tree been next to the pond. She was throughly confused. But It should be the same room she she started to make all the same turns, left , right, forward, left, forward but then there was no right to go. There was only a blank wall and in the center of the room a whole. Irva walked over curiosly, getting her scarf ready for attack, but nothing came out, as she looked down she saw a whole other world, one of a giant dome and surroundings unclear as if fluid and ever changing. How perculiar it was to her. Then a rock under her foot sank into the earth and she toppled forward into the Dome.

OOC: How Do you like that?

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

Hm ... ^_^ Very nice, you'll be in my advanced class. Your character's teacher will be Kai. His profile is in my sig, I trust you'll read up on him. Move onto lesson one in my intermediate thread. Don't worry, this is just to get you started. Once you get through lesson one and two, you'll be doing different assignments.

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

Irva came to. Her hair was matted across her face mingled with blood. She started to move it away from her face but it hurt very much to do so. But her training suggested other wise, so in a quick movement like that of a zephyr and ripped it from the scab that had formed around it. Irva brushed out the caked blood that had dried to a deep black color from her hair with swift fingers, those of a trained assassin and got almost every piece out without sending a shock of pain through her whole body. Which did happen on occasion but it was nothing that Irva couldn't handle, thinking back on the horrid training she had been exposed to.

But never the less now she could see. She was surrounded by doors. It was as if she was at the hub of some insane matrix of rooms. She was amazed that some could even open. Irva spun around slowly looking at each and every one. Twenty eighth stood frame to frame in a circle around her no other spaces were visible in the wall besides that of blue wooden doors. She looked up for the hole she had fallen through but saw none only solid ceiling. She frowned her mocha skin wrinkled lightly at her chin giving her a very sad look. But then she smiled at the opportunity to look through all of these doors. If a simple hole had lead her to this place then imagine what these doors could lead to.

So Irva got off her feet and stretched, a few cracks could be heard from her spine as it protested the stretching of so far but other than that it was silent. Irva walked up to the door directly in front of her, like all the others it was blue, with a square pattern pressed into the wood with a brass swirl handle that was badly tarnished. she opened the door but was only confronted with a harsh rough grey wall of rock behind it. In disappointment Irva closed the door and turned around to face the one directly the opposite of it, if you could call it directly opposite.

It was more directly opposite than any others so it could be considered directly opposite even if it was a little bit more to the right. So Irva walked over to it and placed her hand upon the handle. It was warm to her touch, Irva smiled. This had to be the room. She opened the door and a burst of fire came at her, stealing away her very breath. She quickly closed the door. The smell of burnt hair filled her nostrils and she looked to the side, only the very front had been singed but never less it drastically lessened the attractiveness of her hair by far. She just shrugged. Hair was hair it would grow back. Irva sighed and thought to her self if she would ever get out of this peculiar place.

Then different handle caught her eye, one that was severely tarnished, as if heavily used far more than the others. Irva smiled, she had found her way out. That is hopefully. With a brisk and confident step Irva walked over to the door and pulled it open gently pushing the handle down. Inside all she saw was darkness and a faint glimmer, it looked safe enough. So she entered and stepped in to the center of the room.

Suddenly as if thousands of torches had been light the room illuminated and Irva could see everything. The room was made of mirror. Not mirrors but mirror it was seamless, whole, complete. Impossible as it may seem it was so. And in every facet of the mirror she was visible every feature visible. The light came from behind the mirror, to brighten from outside with a more pure affect than from inside. Irva looked down and could almost see all the way up her dress, she blushed even though no one else was there. She then slowly lifted her head and examined herself.

Irva's brown calf skin boots were just as worn as they had been weeks ago, the sole died black by dirt and other substances then the abrupt difference of color to the light calf brown. The laces were strung tight to keep then close her and increase her agility and maneuverability. The bottom of her dress was slightly ragged from friction on rocks and walls or chairs that it constantly rubbed against. The frayed end of the dress was also stained with blood from Irva's fall, a wound in her thigh was still leaking blood that ran down to bead on the surface of the glass after dripping from the brass leg braces she wore. The rest of her was entirely normal other than the scab on her forehead and dishelveled hair that was escaping form it confining ring.

She smiled and swung her scarf around her neck in a defensive move making sure her battle skills were still up to par. As always they were. But now what was she to do? Escape this place? She could not even see the door she had entered through, it was one with the rest of the chamber. Irva sat down and started to think of how to get forward and further her exploration of this place. She ran at the wall, using her arm guards to try and break through the glass but instead rocketed back to land on her rear. She got up again determined to break through, she got out her scarf and waved to one side setting the links to fix in place and lose it's fluidity. She then charged the wall and hit it hard with her scarf, but it only made a scratch. Irva sat down and began to ponder more ferociously, she would go mad if she did not escape this place.

OOC: First assignment completed I think. Sorry about that..

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

"Assain" is spelled assassin. Just so ya know. Oh and you made a few errors in spelling. Plus, you need to break this apart into paragraphs. Make sure to put spaces between your paragraphs it makes it easier to read. All of this is nothing you couldn't fix with a bit of editing. Make sure to edit from after writing but before posting it, leave it alone for 15 minutes then come back to it and edit again. Fix this post please.

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

The light around Irva flickered, warping her image in the mirror. Twisting and swirling her image. Then the lights were extinguished immediately, leaving Irva in the gruesome dark. Thoughts rushed through her head, the things of her dark dreams, the faces of those she had killed, and the soft outline of her mother. Irva cringed, the images must stop. She concentrated, trying to block them out but they pounded upon the momentary obstacle and once again consumed her thoughts. She screamed briefly seeing in her head a thing of deepest nightmare, a rotten corpse chattering in the darkness of her mind telling her of her imperfection. Then the lights blared back on blinding Irva momentarily. Blinking wildly Irva adjusted her eyes to the sudden light, and then a movement caught her attention in the opposite side of the room. Her master was there. But yet it was not she. It was the thing in the darkest part of her mind.

The thing rolled its eyes in the uncovered sockets. It smiled, the jawbone pulling back making an audible click. Irva tried to pull back against the wall to escape this, thing. But that only encouraged it; it stepped forth, the ramshackle limbs shedding strips of mottled flesh to the ground.

"You failed me!" it cried pointing an omniscient finger at Irva. "You failed to return. You left me!" it shrieked.

"But mistress, I could not."

"Liar! Fool! You could have. You could have saved me, rescued me from my illness."

"Mistress, my mother forbid it. I was charged with a direct order from--"

"I care not you left me to rot! Now you shall do the same!" she cried bursting forth with rage hands out reached. "You never reached perfection, you will fail once again." Her hands reached for Irva's neck but with a blast of liquid shadow she altered the course to instead hit the glass.

Irva ran to the other side knowing that this thing's skill surpassed her own. But she had to reach perfection, by beating it she would. With a fierce glare similar to that of a puma, Irva wheeled around and summoned the most powerful bit of shadow magic she knew, it shimmered like a void consuming the light around it and bobbing gelatinously, and sent it flying at the what could now be considered a Stalfos for it had lost all of the flesh on it's limbs and now was nothing but glimmering bone covered by a few pieces of tattered clothing. The burst of magic caught it head on, causing to reel to the side, but it kept coming rushing at Irva with tremendous speed. Irva tried to halt it with several tactically put blows of her weapon but the monster kept coming. It was inches away from Irva when she flipped over it and caused it to ram into the glass. But to her horror it was uninjured. It smiled wickedly and threw its self once again at her, but this time she didn’t dodge for she had no time to. The thing rammed right into her causing her to slid to the ground.

Everything in her vision wavered the image of the thing blurring into what looked to be Irva herself. "Nothing is perfect. Remember that, all things have a weakness. All you must do is realize It." the thing whispered and melted away back into the mirror. Then the lights went out and Irva drifted into a light sleep.

That's not spaced correctly. When another person speaks you start a new paragraph. Like this:
Quote:
"You failed me!" it cried pointing an omnicent finger at Irva. "You failed to return. You left me!" it shrieked.

"But mistress, I could not."

"Liar! Fool! You could have. You could have saved me, rescued me from my illness."

One, and if another character interrupts another it should go something like this:
Quote:
"Mistress, my mother forbide it. i was charged with a direct order from--"

"I care not you left me to rot! Now you shall do the same!" she cried bursting forth with rage hands out reached.
See the "from--" that indicates an abrupt change in thought or a halt of words. I also saw a few errors in this post. Please edit. Oh and could you possibly describe her shadow magic more in the future? I don't have a very good sense of how it works.

I noticed how you keep apologizing, there is no need to apologize. Tis all good ^_^

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

OoC: One small thing I forgot to mention. Whenever you do quotations (person speaking directly, a.k.a. dialog) never have a period ending the quotation except for when it is divded into two parts and the second part may end with a period but never the first part. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Oh and I added just a bit more to Kai’s profile, a few important abilities and more detailed strenghts and weaknesses, which you should probably read again (sorry).

BiC: Kai’s leather boots thumped gently on the mirrored floor. Another copy of himself was reflected there, connecting with him only by the soles of their brown boots with each graceful step. The Sheikah had his arms folded softly over his chest, it was neither a omnipotent pose nor a passive one. The tall man swiftly stepped up to where his student lay on the floor, his black eyes glided down to her motionless face. Not the slightest expression stired on his strong face. His dark eyebrows were slack and his lips were but a straight line upon his face.

The Sheikah knelt down on his right knee and took a small, glass bottle from his belt. It was the size of his tumb at best with a light brown cork in the top of it. Through the glass, one could see a light brown and leafy substance. He pulled the cork out of the opening in the top with careful fingers and placed it under the Gerudo’s nose. At few seconds, her brow furrowed and her face twitched, even Kai could smell the foul stench within his distance from the bottle.

In moments the woman was gagging and pushing the bottle away from her face. Kai took it that she was awake and promptly put the cork back on the tiny bottle and back into the pouch on his belt. The Sheikah rested his arm on his bent knee and his other one on the knee that was knelt to the glassy floor. The young woman called Irva, groggly pushed herself up onto her palms and into a sitting position. Her icy eyes looked over at Kai, who was waitng patiently for her to recover. Irva’s eyes blinked with a sort of surprise but for a time neither spoke to each other. The Gerudo spoke first.

“Uh … who are you?” she questioned. Kai’s face didn’t change in the least bit, it was still impassive and blank.

“I’m Kai … and this is the Dome, where warriors come to train,” replied the Sheikah. With that said, he stood up to his feet and began to pace back over to the wall in front of them. The man stood a couple of feet away from the wall and his soft eyes closed. Without warning a door-shaped piece of the wall gently flew open for them, gliding with a breeze. “I will be your instructor during your stay here.”

OoC: Okay, simple enough. Have Kai take her somewhere in the Dome. The Dome has a few basic rooms. The Gardens, the Fountain Room, or the Cafeteria. Try to start some sort of conversation with Kai (even though that’s kind of difficult with him …). 500 words at least. Well, blessed be ^_^

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

The long shadow of Kai, created by light source through the portal created in the mirror, fell across Irva, enveloping her. The darkness, no matter how temporary, eased the conditions for Irva slightly more livable. With her index finger she rubbed the bottom of her nose, trying to get the foul stench from her mind. Yet never the less the smell lingered, causing her head to throb in agitation. With her two fore fingers rubbing the area over her temples, Irva stood up, snapping her knees into place and allowing her strong calf and thigh muscles to lift her to a relatively straight standing position. She was still hunched over slightly rubbing intensely on her temples trying to ease away the pain the horrid liquid had caused.

The tap of a booted foot caught her attention; Kai was standing in the doorway tapping his left foot, waiting for her to come. She smiled quickly in apology and turned to him, using some self-discipline so to not haunch back over and start rubbing her temples once again. She walked over to him swiftly and silently, using mainly the balls of her feet to stride quickly over to his position and look him square in the eye. “So I need training?” she asked offended.

Kai regarded the young lady for a moment, observing her clear questioning eyes and strong lower jutting lip. She was clearly a creature of strong character, but that necessarily was not a good thing. It could mean that she would be unruly and hard to deal with some of the time. “If you ask that question, then obviously you do.” He said in response clearly and quietly forming the words with his lips quickly as they did not ring out for all to hear.

It was obvious to Irva that this man was of the Sheikah the markings were everywhere, the hilt of his sword and several other features immediately stood out to her. Yet his coldness alarmed her, it was as if he didn’t wish to be around her. But this did not off set Irva in any way; it merely made her more focused. If she could get the man to warm up, she knew that her time in this place would be much more enjoyable. “So what are you doing here?” she asked innocently walking out of the door ahead of him.

Kai followed, making sure that the woman in front of him did not wander from the path she was taking. “It is of no concern to you.” He simple stated, keeping his gaze forward on the path ahead.

“Were are we going?” Irva asked having never been to this place before so she was clearing at a loss of direction and purpose.

“I assume that you are hungry,” he said having noticed that Irva was looking around for a place to get sustenance. “Are you not?”

“Yes, I am,” she replied admiring the clean cut dark green fine leaf grass. There is so much beauty for a place to learn how to kill. She thought in wonder as they passed a large Elm tree.

“Then I assumed right.” Kai said turning his attention once again to the path they were following.

In a few moments the two arrived at a large complex full of the strangest people she had ever saw. Clearly not all were from Hyrule, even if she did see a fairly large amount of Hyrulians. They came to a secluded table then a bench on each side that no one was sitting at.

“Sit down and I shall get you some food.” Kai said motioning for her to sit at once. “I believe you are omnivorous?” he asked.

“Yes,” Irva said playing with a lock of her hair. “I do eat plant and animals.”

With his answer Kai walked away to get the food. Irva tried to look around, but saw not a lot. A wall was blocking her view of the rest of the student body and main part of the complex. All she saw was the landscaping and high walls of the cafeteria. Near there bench was an old oak tree. Its growth was stunted for some reason and its reach was much to long for its height. Some of the branches even drooped to the ground. Other than that the place was moderately plane. The buildings were made of what appeared to be tan bricks, and the scenery mainly consisted of dark green grass and trees. On her walk from the Mirror room she had spotted a small circling of rocks, probably sand stone, but had really thought nothing of them.

Kai arrived as soon as she began to grow restless. In his arms he carried two metal trays with food neatly placed upon its surface. He set them down with a gentle clank and motioned for her to eat. She sat across from his and looked down at her food. To one side lay half of a roasted Cuckoo, it had been baked in honey with some spices and looked succulent and the skin crisp. To the opposite side lay a small pile of lettuce leaves with chopped carrot and radish. A mild meal, but satisfying. Kai then just remembering pulled two clear glass bottles of a red juice. She opened the bottle and sipped it, a smooth and sweet flavor that refreshed her greatly.

“Thank you,” Irva said looking up at Kai a sweet smile upon her face. He nodded in welcome, and they both began to eat.

OOC: I know I didn’t like the ending either.

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

They ate their meals in silence. Mostly because Kai wasn’t what one would call “chatty.” It was only after they finished their food that he spoke.

“There’s a group quest that will be starting shortly,” began the Sheikah, lacing his hands together on the table in front of them. “You will be working with my other advanced student. Two other teachers will be joining us, along with their advanced students.” Irva nodded, showing that she understood. So Kai continued, “The area we will be going to is a rather cold climate. So I have gotten you suitable clothes for the harsh temperatures.”

The teacher stopped down shortly to grab a large, brown leather bag out from underneath the table. Irva hadn’t noticed the item being there before. It was something like a bookbag with one strap. The opening was strapped down by a silver buckle. It bulged slightly from the contents that had been stuffed into it. He handed it over to his student, who took it.

“Now come,” said Kai as he stood up from their table, “I’ll show you to your room.”

The Gerudo followed her instructor out of the Cafetera and back into the twisting and turning halls. They were strange corridors that seemed to change size, shape, design, and color as they walked through them. The doors covering the walls all had different designs. That was so it would be easier to identify which room was which, making it less difficult to get around the Dome. That is, if one knew which door to look for. Kai stopped at a door and turned to face Irva again.

“I will come to collect you early tomorrow morning.” With that said he turned and walked down the corridor and out of sight. It wasn’t until the Sheikah had left, that she realized he hadn’t told her what the quest was about.

OoC: Right, I want you to describe what her door looks like. All the doors in the Dome look different (as said in my post). Once she is inside, describe what her room looks like. It can be anything you wish it to be. The Dome designs their rooms to be a place they would be most comfortable in. Have Irva look inside the bag and describe what her clothes look like. They will be warm, winter-wear style but that's all I will expect of them. They, too, can look like anything you want them to. In the morning have Kai knock on her door, but stop before she greets him. 800 words at least.

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

Irva looked down the hall, seeing if Kai was still there. With a quick air of realization, the light skinned Gerudo Woman let out a slight snarl of frustration. Her light gray eyes clouded over in frustration, extenuating the brass she wore everywhere. Especially the ring in which her hair was kept, for it deeply contrasted her strawberry blond hair. With a gentle move she adjusted her mesh scarf, throwing it over her shoulder so that it wrapped around her neck loosely. She guessed it just so happened that the mission would not be revealed to her today and she would have to wait till the marrow.

Irva was about to walk through the closed door of her room, then she realized. This was not home, yet the door was exactly the same. It was the same dark wood door with the metal grate at the top, some of the bars filed out. Irva remembered using a small file to saw through the bars when she was fourteen and locked in her room. It had taken hours, but when she did finally file out the bars needed and slip her arm through the slot to unlock the door, her mother walked into the hallway. She had been sentenced to her room for another week with some one guarding her room.

Irva’s mocha colored hand traced over the rough edges of the now raising paint. Irvie, it read, the gold paint still in place after the many years since her fifth summer when her and some of the other girls had gotten to paint their names on their door. Irva had made an agreement with another girl to paint each other’s doors. Irva had done a wonderful job, so had the other girl except that she had misspelled Irva’s name. Yet Irva had not been angry, she liked it.

With a deep sigh Irva twisted the rough spiral iron handle and pushed the door open slowly, leaning upon it. With a quick survey, Irva noted that everything was the same as at home. A small bed with light cotton sheets and a pillow stuffed with blue cuckoo down all bleached white. In the corner was a sturdy old chest made of dark leather and iron strips, Irva sauntered sleepily over to it, checking its contents. It had nothing in it, as it had when she left the Gerudo Fortress. That however didn’t last long as she unpacked the winter cloths Kai had given her.

They were heavy furs, the kind of stuff she had seen living on Wolfos near the Lost Woods. She rubbed her hand against it. It was far softer than anything she had ever touched Irva imagined that this was how clouds would feel. There was a pair of breeches, just by looking at them Irva could tell that they would be skin tight, just how she liked her cloths. The top had three layers, one that went against the skin, another that was wrapped around it, the last being coat like.

After having folded and put away the cloths in the chest, Irva stripped her cloths and threw them a hamper by the door, the practically only thing that was not the same as her room at the Fortress. With quick steps, the young woman padded across the cold floor, her naked feet recoiling harshly. She uncovered a corner of the bed, and with a giant swoop she leapt into the bed and pulled the soft cotton sheets up to her neck. In merely moments she was fast asleep.

Irva had been awake for an hour when a knock sounded at her door. Irva pulled her hair through the brass loop, the newly cleaned strands sliding through the well formed metal easily. She had went to the community shower as soon as she had awoken, so one else had been asleep an hour before dawn. So she had gotten clean and sat on her bed in the fitting winter attire Kai had supplied. With smile at the challenges ahead and a brief adjustment of the straps which held the brass loops that were regularly on the inside of her clothing, but now considering that she was wearing winter cloths and was obviously going into freezing weather. So she had decided to wear them on the outside. As soon as the straps were adjusted she started to the door, were the knocking continued.

Re: [Power Shot] Irva's training

Congradulations! You've caught up with the other advancies. However, now you will have to wait for a few others that are still behind. So no need to post after this. Once everyone is ready I'll start the joint assignment.
