Starfox Series What did you think of the starfox series and which one did you think was best? I loved Starfox Adventures for the GameCube the graphics just blew me away... but I'm easy to please and think Fox McCloud is just gorgeous! :embrsd: :devious: |
I loved em all, from the SNES when I was a kid to Adventures now, I just wish Adventures involved a bit more flying :( |
I thought that it was kinda boring just to fly the airship thoughout the whole games for the earlier versions, but i loved the one fore gamecube, but missed some weapons and i can't wait for star fox 2 for game cube to come out... I've seen some videos and it looked cool... I like co-op games like four swords and everything or nothing... |
Starfox Adventures was quite possibly the most boring Nintendo game I have ever played.....and to think it was based on the Zelda gameplay. (shudder) WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A STARFOX ADVENTURE GAME!? They should've kept the orginal idea, those idiots. Starfox 64 is one of my all time favorite games. (making the SNES game one of them to.......64 was only a remake) I really looking forward to Starfx Assualt. Krystal is in it. That means nintendo is not letting me think Starfox Adventures never happened. those bastards. |
Not really... Starfox Adventures is pretty entertaining. I remembered spending a month or probably less playing the game slowly and just admiring the graphic and stuff. It's pretty good for me anyway. It's fun exploring the world that Rare has so dynamically created. |

Yeah, I like Starfox. I haven't played the N64 one (a real pity), but the original one was really fun. And Adventures was OK. Not as good as I had expected, but not that bad, either. |
Starfox 64. I could play that game through over and over again. I just love trying to increase my score every time to get the medals, and finding the hidden things. Adventures was okay when I played it, but not nearly interesting enough to play through again. And the ending was a huge disappointment. |
I liked Starfox Adventures the graphics where amazing... I could play almost any of the series they were all that enjoyable. I would love more flying in one of the newar games though cause flying was just great. |
Right, I have mixed feelings towards the Starfox series: Starwing-I adored it, it set new standards in game design and was fun to play too. Lylat Wars (Starfox 64): Again, brilliant, but WAY too expensive at launch time. £70?! O_O Starfox Adventures: Terrible in my opinion. :P I hate the gameplay, it was like they just stole OOT's game engine and I personally think that Rare made the game suck on purpose to spite Ninty, as it was their last GC game ever. *conspiracy nut* XD That said, the whole series (characters, story, etc) is good and well made. Forgive my hatred of the last game, I just don't like it. >_>; |
Adventures was a pretty dissapointing game to be honist, not enough fighting, annoying baby dinosour too short i could go on and on and on... never played lylat wars or starwing annoyingly >.> |
Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64) and Star Fox Adventures. Two excellent games I simply love. |

http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/act...tle/index.html I like tacos. Just to be me, Starfox Adventures was crap. |
Starfox was my first SNES game. I used to play that one all the time. A load of fun, that game was. Grounbreaking for it's time, too. Looking back, I was never able to clear the level 3 course, though. I always died on planet Macbeth. I'll have to try that again someday. Adding in the secret worlds were a spiffy touch, too. The off-the-map one was a touch lame though, seeing as your adventure stops when you get there. Starfox 64 (Lylat Wars) was one of the best games for the N64. In fact, it's one of the few games for it that I truly miss. Everything about it was just... awesome. They took the concept of the first and made it even more fast-paced and exciting and upgraded the series with top-notch (for it's time) graphics. SF64 was such a blast, I never got bored getting all those badges. Annoyed, yes, but not bored. Last thing; the music owns. I was thoroughly irritated with Starfox Adventures. It was pretty and all, but the game was nothing more than a "gather random stuff" quest. That, and the battle system offered little freedom. I was hoping for much more. The best part about it was flying in the Arwing between the worlds; the controls, feel and looks of those short missions were so smooth and crisp, I can only hope that Assault is better. Which brings me to Starfox Assault. Not out yet, so I can't say much, obviously. But, I've high hopes for it. I'll be glad to see Fox and the gang returning to the skies (I wouldn't mind use of the Landmaster Tank or the Sub again, though ;)). Plus, with Namco and thier Ace Combat team behind it, I think it'll turn out to be a great game. |
I loved Starwing, IMO its probably the best in the series. Lylat Wars was also good but I tired of it after a while. Thats about as far as my knowledge extends; this new addition looks pretty :-) |
Star Fox 64 was the best by far. Why?.... Never played the SNES Star Fox. And Dinosaur Planet was gay. |
Lylat Wars. Hmm. Just the name gives me a happy feeling. ^-^ At first, I got it for the Rumble Pack. My parents bought it for me. I was quite happy when I found out just how good of a game it really was. I spent a lot of hours playing it, trying to master everything. Sadly, I'm a little embarrased to admit that up to this date, I still haven't earned all the badges. *cough* As for Starfox Adventures, I actually liked that game. True, it wasn't a *real* Starfox game and it didn't reach Zelda standars by far either, but I didn't mind. It was a short, neat game, took me at most a weekend to beat (not playing 24/7) and it gave me something to do. The graphics were great and I loved the Warp Stone's accent. ^-^ He was such a funny character. I'm really looking forward to the new game, it must be even better now. :D |
I've only played two of 'em - the SNES game (Starfox? Not sure what it was called) and Lylat Wars. I played Lylat Wars first, so the graphics on the SNES one made it seem just that little bit worse. Lylat Wars is a bit like one of the old-school platform games: after the first dozen times, most of it is just reflex. Incredibly fun reflex. I've even reached the point where the easy route (asteroids, base, secret weapon, etc) is harder than the hard route (sector y, aquas, zoness, etc). And this is after several months where I haven't played it more than once or twice. Don't worry, Lio - I haven't got all the medals yet either. I'm still Titania, Solar and the ambush (you don't get many kills on these, so I don't usually bother). Once I do have them, I'll see how I fare on the 'expert' version. |
