So a few months back, this totally awesome RPG for Wii got released in Europe and I beat in a month and I totally loved it...and I don't know anyone I could discuss the awesome things in it with.

So I was hoping someone here on this forum played the game and fell in love with it as much as I did (suddenly want Shulk to be included in Smash Bros. 4, feel like writing fanfiction about the game's characters, music from the game is stuck in the head all the time, etc.)

Also, if this topic becomes active, it'll probably have quite a few spoilers in here, just sayin'.

So, to start the discussions off, who's your favorite Xenoblade character?

Mine is Melia. I just love her character development. Yeah, she sucks in battle, but that's not important here. She went from a spoiled brat when you first met her, into an understanding, dignified, lovable woman who wants only good for everyone, but forgets about herself. And she seemed so lonely and sad at the end. I just felt like hugging her and tapping her shoulder while saying "there, there". :(

I love Melia, but at the Mechonis Core, it felt like she was really heartbroken.

But I am going to disagree with you on Melia being useless in battle.

NO ONE sucks. No character personality sucks, no character in battle sucks. Melia has the potential to deal a crapton of damage with her magic. Since she can summon 3 Elementals at once, you can use one or two for boosts and keep firing the second or third. Her lightning does tons of damage since the buff that comes with summoning it increases ether.

Even Riki, the mascot, can solo most bosses if you have the skill trees and arts set up right.

I love the game to death. Though I have not beaten it yet. It's an amazing, beautiful, expansive world that you get to explore at your leisure. Craptons of things to do and places to explore. Has some of the BEST JRPG characters I've ever seen, and some of the best music. The ENTIRE soundtrack is loveable.

The english voice acting is also pretty damn good. And the banters during/after the battles really make the characters shine and are some of the BEST lines in the game. You're tempted to try every party combination just to hear them all. Not to mention the optional Heart-to-hearts.

I love ALL the damn characters. All of them. And this is rare for a jrpg, I'd usually hate one or two of the main cast, but all of the party members are so alive, so fun.

If I had to choose a character over everyone, I'd choose Dunban. He is the baddest mother♥♥♥♥er ever.

One of the few JRPGs I enjoyed. I personally found the banter annoying after a while but I tuned it out listening to the music. The combat system was quite enjoyable after I figured out what my teammates were doing. Reyn, Sharla, and Shulk was my main party for around half of the game, so I grew attached to them. However I did use almost everyone towards the end.

The story was quite enticing, although after playing about one hundred JRPGs I could see every plot twist coming (except the ending). I still enjoyed how everything played out though.

Metal Face was my favorite character. He just wanted to kill all those people ):

Seriously though, the ending was amazing.

Makes me glad when someone other then hardcore jrpg fans like a jrpg. Since I'm the type of person that only likes a few jrpgs (especially MOTHER 3) that's a good sign I'll like it.

I finally finished it last night after like two months!! Great game and has a beautiful soundtrack, now bring on zelda!

Wow, people posted. I guess I shouldn't have given up on the thread after just two days. xD

And then there's Zelda SS that's been keeping me busy for like a week...

But anyway, I'm so glad I found at least some other Xenoblade fans.
I also used Team ShuReSha throughout most of the game's boss battles. I guess I didn't try out Melia enough to understand some good tactics to use with her. I mean, Shulk, Reyn and Sharla are fairly simple to use in a sense, and DPS-Tank-Healer is a really good combination of team members so you could probably see why I, and probably many others, fall for using this team so much.

About the voice acting, I could not agree with you more, pretty darn good. The Brits rarely get a chance to voice act for a Japanese video game, especially not when it's a JPRG FOR NINTENDO. And what do you know? BAM, first try, nails it. Gawd, how I hope they choose British people to voice act Pandora's Tower and the Last Story too.
Just wondering, did anyone else jump around all the time while playing as Reyn just because of the "ALIHOO"? xD
The only voice actor I didn't like was Riki's. It just feels like they could've found a sound that fits him better. Still, I prefer the English Riki over the Japanese. The Japanese one just has this high-pitch squeeky noise, like he's a cutesy animal from some typical animewhile he's actually a middle-aged father of many children. -_-'

Have any of you tried out other stuff made by Monolith Soft? I've heard people saying it's "the new SquareSoft", in terms of quality.

I'm getting this game! After looking up some video reviews, I've gotta say; it looks pretty darn interesting.

I hope you won't be disappointed. It's a pretty huge and amazing game. The music is awesome, the characters are awesome. 50+ hour main quest, you can't go wrong. Lots of sidequests, places to explore and places to find.

Come now, don't act or post like that.

There is something nifty called "Free Loader".

EDIT: Just found out, Free Loader doesn't work on updated Wiis...sorry...

I shouldn't have to import. It should be available in the Americas. Quite the smart move, NoA.

Yes, I do agree on that Xenoblade should be localized in America too, but the longer it takes for Nintendo to decide to release it there, the more people will just play the game through an emulator or a softmodded Wii, and the more people will buy it when it actually hit the store shelves.
It'll be just like the Secret of Mana sales-fiasco, only in America instead of Europe.

I really enjoyed Xenoblade too. I also used Shulk, Reyn and Sharla for the majority of the game. I agree about Riki being good for Bosses. i was having trouble with the last boss, Then replaced Reyn with Riki and won! My fav characters were definetly Shulk and Melia. Felt sorry for Melia at the end.

Good news, everyone. Apparently GameStop (yes, Gamestop) is releasing the game exclusively in America.

Xenoblade Chronicles Coming to North America From an Unlikely Source

Yeah, I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on.

Nintendo of America just posted Xenoblade photos on their Facebook Page.

Looks like they wanted to wait until Skyward Sword.

If they're going to release it to America then they'll do the best thing ever =P

Xenoblade Chronicles Coming to North America UPDATE: Now Absolutely Confirmed

Officially confirmed via Facebook and Twitter and Nintendo's official site, coming April 2012.

Just ran into this news on Kotaku. YAY!

I think Nintendo are trying to spread out the Wii a bit longer before the Wii U is ready.
