I can't believe it's not Photoshop

Anyway, this is my showcase. I'm going to post a lot of junk in order of creation now (BUT EVERYONE'S POST WHORING, MA).

Messin' with patterns. Didn't know much about image quality, so the first one is a jpg. Basically patterns and poorly placed text.

Not at all; maybe a bit late, I got a second post up there. And yeah, I've been using GIMP for a long time, so I learn a bunch of ways around the Photoshop-GIMP walls.

It's very much possible - Kamangir, for example, is like five leagues above me and he uses Gimp.
Anyways, Hyrule, your later works are nice! It's nice to see your improvement too.

Hylie Hyrule! I luff your stuff, especially the simple stuff. You have a real eye for colour. Great use of GIMP too, it's underestimated, and you do a fine job at using what it offers.

This wasn't anything phenomenal, in fact it's really blurry. I love the blue thingy I got there though.

For the Signature of the Week.

I'd been wanting to make a background for some time. I had a brain fart today and went with it. It's not too crazy, and I like that. Also, for those wondering, the black bar on the bottom's there because that part got cut off from the start bar, so I moved the rest up.

Edit: Look's like photobucket resized it. :/ Oh well, it looks fine on my desktop, so it's all cool.

You know what's awesome? Actually being able to see the development. I've got to ask--how long have you been using GIMP?

A little less than 2 years.

the link one at the top looks like photoshop because of the glare

It's a GIMP filter. Soft glow is what I usually use for that affect, though never to that extent anymore.

Did you never see Cobra's sigs? All done with GIMP. If you find your way around GIMP, you can do exactly the same things PS does.
