[Stallord Knight]

I've already had a poetry thread in the past, but the work in it was not so good. I've decided to make a new thread for some of my recent work. I'm a beginner in writing poetry, so don't be too harsh.

I'll start the thread off with a poem I wrote just a few days ago:


Fall on through the cloud


Hey, look at me
I’m talking to you my friend
Don’t ignore the shame you’re in
Brighten up and dance again

Follow up the stairs of recognition
Every word just seems to glisten
Have it in you to look up and listen
Racing up high and far
To understand your faithful mission

Love me hate me, it’s a game
Foolish lovers out they came
I know just how you feel right now
Sulking in the underground
Sulking in it, yes you are
Why don’t you come on out
And smell the dreams

Have some faith, I know you can
Nothing is easy my warm hearted friend
Love is tough and hard to sway
And ignorance will not assist
So whatever happens, know you can
Fall through any window pane
That is just not strong enough

Forging masks out of love
We all seem to do it
Recognize the voice from above
And fall on through the cloud

Love me hate me, it’s a game
Foolish lovers out they came
I know just how you feel right now
Sulking in the underground
Sulking in it, yes you are

Forever Forbidden



Forever, I hold your heart
In my hands, delicately
Your heart, made of glass
Always willing to break
In my hands

Look at me when I tell you
Tell you that my love
Is forever abnormal
Magnificently true
Surrounds us both
In a land of new

Everything in life
Is meaningless without you
When you’re not here
I feel like crying
When you are here
I feel like dancing

Come, dance with me
Underneath the moonlight
Tonight, you and I
Will dance the night away
Our hearts will join
And our souls will become one

Our love, like something odd
Like writings
From a magazine
Like a gleaming white sky
And snow tumbling down
Our love is
Forever forbidden

The Shallow End



Pronounced is my life
In front of bold eyes
Watching, as I make
My long and slow strides
Will I die this very night
Or shall I wake up
And touch the stars

Eternity, the time will not stop
Everything seems tumbled
Doors to my death
Are scattered here and there
As I take my last breath
And dive into the shallow end

Watching, waiting
The time has almost come
Will you remember me
When I have gone
Or will you forget
Like a mere Winter’s dream
Pointless in all

Forever believing
Astonishing the truth
A window to a new life
Is waiting for me
Waiting, quietly, and clear
For everything
To burst out in fear

Remember
These last and final words
As I say my good-byes
And as I fall from the sky
I promise I will touch a star for you
As I dive into the shallow end

Saw her today
Couldn’t help
But to smile the day away
Left here today
Couldn’t help
But to think the night away
To dream the night away

Saw you with him
Couldn’t help
But to cry the sorrow away
Stayed here today

Every night, I stay up to think
About you
And how my hearts sinks
Into the bottom
Of my chest

Thoughts of you
Are but a binding vine
They bind me up
And take what is mine
I would like to be the first
To regain my loss

One I knew once said
Life is but a passing dream
I agree with all my heart
And sometimes
We have to open the drawer
And find our pride

So as I sit here and think
About your lovely face
I can’t help but to snicker
The night away
For I have once again
Found my pride
And thoughts of you
Will never again
Drown my dignity

Serenade of the Stars


Come on
Kiss the stars with me
As they melt from the sky
Kiss until the night has gone
Then we will wait
Until the stars
Have once again, returned

Each star, tells of a story
A story of bright
Or a story of dark
Always believing, they will fall
And reappear, above our heads
So sing with me
The song of stars
And watch as we make
their dreams come true

Each star, falling
As we sing our reluctant tune
We will wipe the sky clean
If we continue
Continue on
Until they all have reappeared
Above our heads

I look at you, and you look at me
Forever holding
That star rumbling key
We will sing and they shall wait
Falling from the heavens
Absorbing their greatness
We will watch and they will fall
Forever believing
In their true call

Nothing is left
Where have they gone
One by one
They fell
Looks like we’ve done it again
Now hold me
Until the stars
Until they appear once more

Angelic Ramblings


Feel the wind, blow through your hair
As it blows the sails
The sails of your boat
The boat that will lead you
To eternal sleep
I will miss you
As you silently
Slip away,

I watch as you leave me here
With nothing but thoughts
Thoughts of misery
That blind my soul
I think of your face
And can’t help but cry
Your absent grace pierces my soul
For you radiate like the sun

Dreams of you take me away
To a place of splendour
I see you again
And you couldn’t be more
More wonderful
Your eyes fill me with joy
As they pierce my heart
With everlasting
Brilliance

Beauty is marked with greatness
And what better
To hide it in you
I love it when you smile
I can’t help
But to fall
Fall to heaven
For you are but an angel
The most gracious in all of heaven

My dream has yet to end
You say misunderstood words
And touch my face
And finally
I fall through
Back down to earth
Without you
And you forever haunt me
As acid tears run down my face
For I know, I will never
Be with you…

Narrative of Your Heart



Where I belong
Is not of question
But of knowledge
It’s a matter of knowing
Where I will stay
Forever

Dignity, will be avowed
And I will walk once more
Down the streets
Of you heart
I will stride once more
Inside of your soul
Where gracious lives
And purity sustains

Love, is but tossed around
Forever unknown
As it is tossed to the ground
Becoming rare
And nearly unfound
But remember
I will be here
Sustaining you clarity

Once you have broken
Broken you cage
Seek me out
For you are no shadow
But you are bright
Frolicking In the light
And renounced from shame
As you avoid the night sky

I have seen you smile
And I have seen you perish
One thing to be unseen
Is the way you cherish

The things that make me spew

Midnight Montage


I am but a mere memory
In the shadow of the moon
I reconcile as I stride in the night
Every word I whisper
Every breath I take
Is a part of you
A part that will stay with me
Until it is broken
Broken until no more

Hunting beneath the light
For that one thing that will keep me alive
You presence
Such a beautiful thing
A fragment of something better
That will creep in to my heart
And drown it with love
But for now, I continue on
My hunt for you

Silver streaks beam over me
Lightening my hair with cold
The lightning cracks once more
As I peer through the trees
And watch as death
As death is approved
Sins are lovely
If they are appreciated

Love, is like a flutter
A flutter of wings being pierced
My wings are not here
And never will be here
They have vanquished for I am not whole
Watching them burn
Burning under the light
Moon light forever
Staining the sky

Midnight is nice
Most lovely thing I’ve seen
It is my love and I will live on
Living un pure
Living in disgrace
Fainting in to twilight
As ghosts grow taller
I grow smaller
Always shrinking underneath
The moonlight
The radiance of the night

Hmm, I have no clue what I was writing, but it turned out to form a poem. I'm not quite sure if the title goes well with the theme though. Actually, I'm not even sure what the theme is.....wow.



Torture

Feathers….
Heavier than bricks
Falling from the sky
And bleeding through the crowd
Stern Faces around me
Watching my every move
I am untwined
Nothing but an empty soul
Raking the leaves at dawn
And burning them in the horizon

You told me to wait here
I was bold
And left here with nothing but cold
The breeze lifts me into the sky
And I am one with the moon
We are holding each other’s hand
On the last night on earth
I want to forget…

I see my reflection
In the waters of a lake
I have changed, drastically
Every appearance, every inch
Have formed something new
Something ignored
Something disremembered
Something….

Forget my apparel
Forget my rage
Forget my anxiety
Of ongoing stage
I will be your forgiven
If you become my heart
Beating each time
When we have to part
Lead me not into temptation
But deliver me from evil

Daring is my middle name
Wink wink, a gesture I made
As I jumped from the height of out cutting room floor
And fell into darkness
You watched
And you screamed
Rain started to fall from the stars
I thought it was beautiful
But you left in ignorance
So, my mind, filled with you
Will never be the same again
Ever
For they are filled with these words that I don’t understand.

Nice, you have a real talent for writing these, keep it up!

Quality over quantity my friend. You have great potential and great ideas. But your work could be better. If you take the time to strengthen your poems with structure and beautiful imagery, rather than trite descrtiptions and passive verbs, your poems could be much better.

My advice:

• Don't change meter between stanzas of similar structure
• Keep the rhyme scheme constant or abandon it. Breaking from it too often weakens the overall effect.
• Avoid commonplace metaphors.
• Punctuation strengthens,clarifies, and seperates your points, your meaning. Use punctuation like you would if writing a story.

But not bad. Your poems are looking good, so don't stop writing.

Thanks a lot Nikita! Anyways I just finished this poem. I actually wrote this for a girl I know. So, this is actually quite true.


For You


I fell in love,
Not too long ago.
With a girl from school,
The most beautiful I know.
I told her how I feel,
She told me how she felt.
Another boy from school,
Her heart did already melt.
I think about her day and night.
My head is haunted,
With these feelings
Of words that are out of light.
This poem is for her.
On this day, I have chosen,
To speak out, and to say,
I think I love you,
This feeling, I cannot sway.
I love the way you smile,
When you hear something funny,
Or the way you duck
When that picture flash is coming.
The choices you make,
The promises you break,
Are amazingly lingering.
I hate the way that I love you.
An over obsession
Thinking all of the time
Of that one fine possession.
I know that you don’t love me.
I know that I can’t get over you.
What I don’t know,
Is how I will ever make it through.
You are what makes me tick.
Without you, I would be nothing.
Just a poor fragment of something broken.
Lost, unfound, and always rotting.

I just finished my first ever sonnet. It's not that good, but atleast I can say that I wrote a sonnet.


Dreading


One road to bind our souls,
A common misfortune to render.
Our hatred it forever grows,
Searching for that field of splendour.
Haunted by your graciousness,
Yet destroyed by your memories.
I am ashamed by your thoughtfulness,
Believing is beyond my abilities.
I was once a living fragment,
Thriving in the unborn day.
Placing stars like an unfinished garment
Hoping that you would always stay.
Dieing in the glazing sun,
Yet dreading, of what I have no yet become.

=D ^o^ I love these! I still really liked your old ones, though. My favorite of thses are Forever Forbidden and Angelic Ramblings. Angelic Ramblings told of the amazing way the person makes you feel and that you know you will never be together. UGH (I say ugh after almost everything, so you know.) I love it! I might have liked some of the others, too.

As for Dreading, the sonnet - I'm not even sure what a sonnet is, is I can't say how good of a sonnet it is. Ugh. And the whole thing sort of confused me.

Anyways. Hearts. I love 'em. Keep writing! ^o^ (xD)

Saviour


Forming shadows out of dust
And relying on your grace.
Feel the hollowness
As it comes crashing down,
Above us in a suicidal memory.
But don’t worry, I will save you.

Fighting for that one last chance
To see you gleam,
To see you glitter.
Flowers of black and white
Resist nothing towards the eloquence,
Of a rather nothing feeling.

Fireflies brighten the sky
Of a moonless disturbance.
Once again, remember my words,
I will save you from death,
And relinquished thoughts
Shall never brake our barrier.

Forget our narrow escape
Into the exquisite droughts
of whereabouts and sinking grounds.
Render my soul into something new,
As I lose all consciousness and forget your face.
But remember, I will save you.

Stars falling, dreams calling , Angels dying.
Laughing is my way of saying;
“Screw Off”.
Hopefully, they’ll understand my composition
As I disappear into the acts of your mind.
Chances, hopes, who needs them,
When you have me?
But remember, I will save you.
Time elapses and I grow colder
Flowing in my blood stream is nothing
But forget memories

Exploding Love


I remember, In our younger years,
Times of passionate love
That exposed our truthful elegance.
Times of exquisite manipulating
Reviving our aching hearts.
Tell me you love me,
One last time.
My heart shall melt,
And the wind will blow.

Every time I approach you, my heart rises.
Every time I see you, my heart beats faster.
Every time we touch, I melt inside.
I face my fears each time,
That we love each other.

Commitment is a word
That can be divided and loved.
Forceful carrying
Of radiant colours
Thriving in the unborn night.
Soaring over clouds of dust
And dying in every person
That is not loved enough.

I lay here without you
Tonight, this very night.
We shall wake the stars
And they will dance with us.
On that very night,
I was drowned in sorrow
For your thoughts had come rushing in.
Like a raging lake
About to scatter across the sky.
Now, I can’t bare to look at you
For I shall…

Explode around your rising heart
