Being that this is, non-other than 'poetry and originals' I am making a story based off of something I started, and is Role played by ... two of my friends now, after ones death and a few quitting.
Being the current situation of the Role play, I'm making the history and modern curse, of the Scarlet Mist. Lightening flashed again. Rain poured in buckets. Wind tore at anything daring to sail at sea. Waves rocked up and down, several feet high. One ship, however, was not backing off from the storm. "Sir!" shouted a lieutenant to his Captain as they continued to sail," we should turn back! Land is only a few hours away! We need to lay anchor! We'll never survi-" "Do you question my seamanship!?" roared the captain back at him. The lieutenant backed away as anyone in the crew that could, laughed at him for his foolish mistake. The Lieutenant glared at the group as they back away to their work. Another wave crashed over the side of the ship. A few men wore torn from their feet, washing to the other side of the deck. The captain looked ahead. Towards the rocking bow. He hung on the wheel tightly a-top the helm. He stood strait and tall, he would never show fear for his crew. And after years in the navy, he was used to this. The ship continued to fight it's way forward, but the storm only worsened. Yet the captain refused to turn back. Even if the ship began sinking. The Scarlet Mist, the worthy vessel, was showing to be even more worthy than it showed in it's test cruise. The boards creaked and moaned in the tween deck, for the cabin boys and a few sick members of the crew. "I'm so tried of this!" shouted one of the boys. He was laying atop a large matress. Where all three of the cabin boys slept. He held a bucket, which he occasionally turned over to puke into. "It's okay, Henry, storms can't last too much longer, can they?" suggested a young boy, Will. * I love that name, I usually have a Will in all my stories! * "Yeah! What Will said!" exclaimed a much younger, but brave boy, Patrick. "I... I surely hope so!" Henry moaned, gasping a moment as he turned to puke once more into the bucket, putting it aside on the deck. They boys were brave to assume this, yet it was not too true. The storm lasted for two more days. A rather small storm for some known in the pirate sea of Helldeep. "Sail-ho!" shouted the watch early one morning after the storm. A few men on deck leaned over the Mist's railing to see a far off ship approaching. Many men from below rushed up. Will took his chance, grabing Henry's slop bucket, he ran up the ladder, trying not to look at the contence of the bucket. It wreaked horribly. He ran quickly to the side, dumping the puke and... (well, lets just keep it at puke.) into the sea. He pretended to dump more as he watched the on-coming ship. "It's a fleet!" shouted the watch. Three powerful Man o' Wars approached the Mist. "Remember the plan" The captain whispered into the Lieutenants ear. Before the Man o' Wars could get in range of fire or boarding, the lieutenant shouted. Certain men jumped from the swarms of crew, drawing weapons. The English flag was lowered quickly. Anyone that tried fighting were killed by blade, since guns could not be fired at the moment. "Let me explain quickly!" shouted the captain, letting the pilot turn the ship around, as the Man o' Wars began to pursue. "You all are pirates- BUT, if you decline, you will be forced in the brig until this chase is over. Then we will break your limbs, and toss your dirty arses into the deeps!" The pirates cheered. A man was spotted trying to jump over-board, but was grabbed by the men." Now, gents, bring them down!" Before Will could scream, his mouth was covered. He was pushed into the tween decks. They two men holding him lead him to a cage in the bottom deck. It was old, and there were a few puddles. He was thrown in along with seven other men. And the two cabin boys. "Will!" exclaimed Henry, forcing his way to Will. Patrick also joined. "What're we gonna do?" Henry questioned, biting his fingernails. Will pushed his hands down from his mouth, and replied," Our only hope is that the British ships catch up and board. If cannonade should contact with the br-" "Shut it, boy! We all know the Mist is too fast. Those Man o' Wars carry too many guns and men. We'll never escape, then we'll be thrown in the deeps!" "Aye!" a few men agreed. Will glared, but didn't want to start a fight, so the three cabin boys were quiet the whole time. If only they could fight against the pirates. No, there were too many. They would kill them quickly. Will shuddered at the thought of his limbs broken and loosing his life to the blue. The next day, everyone was forced from the brig and on deck. Will gulped as he stood my Henry and Patrick, both looking worried. A tear streamed down Henry's cheek as he tried to to cry in front of everyone. Patrick whispered,"We aren't gonna die. We gotta try to resist. We ain't tied is w-" "Are we." Will could not help but to correct. They watched helplessly as one of the men were pinned, his arms and legs beat several times until he was screeching and he couldn't move them. he was thrown over board. One man yelped," I'll be a pirate, I'll be a pirate!" The captain smiled," 'atta boy!" The men allowed him to join in. A few others claimed they would surrender, joining off. But, instead of grabbing the next man by him, they grabbed Henry. Henry yelled, tears rushing from his eyes. He struggled, flailing his arms. He was sat on the same table, it was easier to pin him since he was only eleven. Will and Patrick looked into each other's eyes. They knew what had to be done. Patrick pushed one of the men aside, who fell because he didn't expect it. The captain fired a flintlock, which blew into the deck by Patrick. Patrick leapt up, grabbing one of the pistols one man was using to beat Henry with. To his surprise, it was loaded. He pointed it at the men, Will rushed to his side. "Stay back! Don't hurt him!" Patrick yelled. "Okay-" began one of the crew. "-the sea can!" continued the captain. The crew laughed as they threw Henry overboard. His arms were bleeding. He couldn't move them but hardly. He couldn't kick. He couldn't breath. His lungs stung, he continued to sink below. His eyes burned in the salt water. He couldn't hear, he saw stars. He couldn't see, just... Henry was gone. Will only saw a dark figure sink below. He knew before anyone said anything, Henry was never swimming back up. "You murderers!" he shouted. One of the crew were offended by this statement. But he was a poor shot. He fired at their heads, missing by a long shot. Patrick and Will backed up. The men were closing in on them with flint locks and knives, and cutla- "Grandpa?" "Yes, Sam *yes, that's right, he has MY name*?" "Is this story true?" questioned the young boy partly under his covers in bed, eyeing his Grandfather. "Yes, indeed. More than a legend, now, lemme continue, boy." sses. They were on the very end of the bow now,"Patrick, the bowsprit..." Will whispered. So, right as the crew fired all their guns, Patrick and Will swung themselves down the railing and onto the front side rails. They climbed up to the Bow sprit, taking hold of the mast, they climbed the slanted log to the end. Waves were bigger in the front, they both hung on the rope. The crew laughed, another shot was fired. It missed because of the waves. Now, men drew their cutlasses, jumping down, they too began to climb. A shot rung off. One of the pirates fell helplessly into the water with a torn up head. Another shot. And yet, another pirate fell to his doom. The men the pirates had left on deck had stolen some guns and were firing. The pirates returned a shot, killing one of the men. They fired back on the pirates. Another one fell to the depths. The pirates had a bad location on the front side rails. One glanced to the ladder," Climb, boys! Lets meet 'em wit' our blades!" "AYE AYE!" shouted the men as they leapt to the front, climbing on the bow. Another shot rung off. The pirate who was climbing onto the bow fell back on the ladder. The ladder collapsed as men fell helplessly. Some even falling off the ship, some grabbed the side rails. Patrick fired his guns, hitting a pirate who was gaining his ground. "We can't continue, or we'll run strait into them!" Will hissed. "I know, but our side can-" three shots went off the time. Patrick and Will looked up in time to see two of the men fall dead, pirates coming from behind. One turend, shooting a pirate. The pirates ran in, stabbing one with their blades. The men jumped out of the way, drawing knives they crept backwards, another shot fired, tearing into the deck. The pilot, captain, and lieutenant and all other officers were no the helm with flint locks and knives. The rest of the pirates climbed not the bow, and were circling the naval men. Patrick and Will carefully made their way to the bow- "Grandpa, do they die?" "We'll have to see, hun. I'm trying to finish this story, but you keep interrupting." "...Okay..." Sam replied slowly as his Grandfather continued. . They leapt onto the bow. They creapt behind one of the pirates watching the fight. Patrick handed the gun to Will since he was taller. Will got on his tippy toes, cracking the gun on the pirate's neck. They stole his gun. "Good thing everyone else has weapons." Patrick told Will. They saw the naval men backing up to the life boat. They quickly ran past the crowd of pirates, barely missing four blades and a bullet. They backed in with the five other men. One was shot by the pirates, who fell helplessly over-board. Will shot one of the pirates. "Now!" One man shouted. Will and Patrick never knew what was coming, but they felt something grab thier collars as they fell into the life boat. The rope was cast, and the boat was out to sea. They found it hard out at sea, with large waves and sometimes bad wind. And worst of all, no food. Days past, and everyone was hungry. One of the men were dieing, laying in the boat, gasping for air. Sweating form the heat. Will thought he saw a speck on the horizon in front of him, but he thought it was an illusion. Then, one of the men- "I knew it! They do die! They do!" "Okay, okay, be quiet, I'm trying to explain it to you!" Sam went quiet. saw it too. He shouted out," Sail-ho!" with his weak voice. The men looked up, excited to see. They came upon a British Frigate. They shouted as hard as they could with hoarse voices. A watch came, and saw them. They were all saved. **** Now that it is edited, comments are welcome, feel free to critique. I'm writing chapter 2, soon.

A slight wind blew in the port town of Myza. A twenty-seven year old pirate, walked about the docks. He heard a whistle. Followed by a hum. He quickly hid in the merchant's stall by the wharfs. "I wonder where he went..." wondered the pirate, Kira Tasa as she hummed quietly at the docks. "Hey, Sam, mate, after this is over, can we go to the tavern... I saw some... 'interesting' women..." "What are you sayin'? We're trying to make it to the inn alive at curfew, and your worried about women!?" "Who wouldn't?" "Idiot, we could die!" Sam said to himself a bit loudly. Kira turned in his direction. Suddenly, Sam heard the moan, so he knew it was his queue. A... part of his body came off. You couldn't tell what, but in an instant, Sam was an invisible ghost, as a shodow floated off his body. The shadow floated away, and Sam ran away to the Myzan town square, meeting up with the Shadow." Alright, Shadow, we can unite, again." The shadow fell into his body, as he became the pirate, Sam Garrison once again. "Close one, eh?" Sam offered as they walked towards the tavern," Now, if you try it with my body, I think I'll remain a ghost." Sam snapped. "Oh c'mon, women don't like pitch-black shadows!" "I don't like them." "You are single! Why do you care?!" He boomed. "Single, what the-" "Sam! What are you doing?!" Sam turned to see Kira catching up. "Um, going to the... tavern...?" "Why would you do that, Sam, I swear-" "You there, freeze!" All turned to see the militia pointing their muskets at them. Sam quickly faded while Shadow hid as the cobblestone's shading. "Ah, a woman." One man said, knocking her over. Kira screamed as they grabbed her," These creature are the be-" He yelled, letting go of Kira as he fell hopelessly to the ground, a shadow tearing up his face. Another man screamed, Sam toying with his mind as he entered his body. The shadow leapt up again, cracking another's neck as he stood on his shoulder. Two miss shots were fired as the other four militia ran. "Hurry, miss, run, that would have been heard, just get out of here, me and Sam here, will be fine!" Sam ran through a dark ally, hiding behind a crate, he caught his breath. "So, Sam, what do you think?" "I say we wait for Kira." "Why he- Oh, she's good." "Not for that you bloody idiot! She's my fiance!" "Are you kidding me, thats even better!" "Ugh, why do I lug you around?" Sam questioned, still whispering. "Because you'd be a ghost..." the voice in his head returned more quietly. Sam sighed," This is foolish, Legix is gun-" "Grandpa, what happened to Will?" the young boy asked. "Now just hold on, we'll get to that." the old man replied. "Hey, I like how he gets my name. I'm the pirate!" The old man chuckled silently before continuing. "-na kill me!" Sam hissed. He sat up more, now that he had caught his breath. If Legix ever figured out- "Sam!" a male's voice boomed. "Oh lord, yeah, Legix?" "We had a break through, a few militia are dead!" he howled. "Ooh... uh, thats pretty bad." "Hey, what are you doing over there?" "I'm, I'm just-" "Does Sam die?" "Now if ya' don't quit askin' me' that, we may never know!" Sam didn't reply to this as the old man continued. "-sitting here... bored." "You're supposed to be indoors at curfew!" "What if I was going ot the tavern?" "Fine, go, but you better not do anything." Legix warned as Sam got up, walknig slowly to the tavern in the Town-square. "So, Sam, wanna like-" "NO!" Sam shouted. He heard Legix running in his direction, so he began to run, when he got the tavern, he jumped in, slamming the door behind him. "Close one..." he said, half-breath. "Oh yeah, that was close..." replied the voice. "Okay, tomorrow, we leave for Sailwind, got it? That boat was supplied enough to make the trip to Helldeep." Sam whsipered as he approached the main bar. A few pardons were about, and some were about in the inn rooms. "Yessir, are you using a room or just here for tonight?" a bartender asked. "I'm using room four." Sam replied, thinking of the ten inn rooms there were. "Ah yes, then all beverages are lowered by thirty-percent." Sam ordered rum, putting down teh usual price of money anyways. The man went to a barrel, taking out an old musty looking mug, he opened the tap, letting the thick red liquid pour in. He lcosed it, setting the drink down to Sam. Sam took it, taking a sip, he went quietly up to his room, knowing tomorrow, he'd be at sea again. "Grandpa, is he really leaving his girlfriend?" Sam questioned. "Has to, son, things goin' on in Sailwind. Now go to bed, I'll tell more tomorrow night.
