First off, this is something I had to write for school and I wanted to share it with all of you. Our assignment was aftering reading the short science fiction story called Mariana, readers are left without a clear idea as to how the story concludes. Now, I could bet that non of you have ever read Mariana in your life. I cannot scan the story and post it in this topic because that is illegal. Anyways, I hope you enjoy how I chose to conclude Mariana.

Mariana produced a modest smirk on her face as the snow cascaded into the abysmal void. With a feeling of disburdenment, yet excitement at the same time, she flipped the switch that read MARIANA. Her emotions elevated as she braced herself for what was to come. Embracing her body as she crouched down on the rock, Mariana’s smile grew and became one of extreme joy.

After waiting for what seemed like eons, Mariana’s heart dropped. Her feelings plummeted like a downward arpeggio, smashing onto the stone ground.

Frantically, Mariana grabbed the block of switches and began switching the one that read MARIANA on and off. Her efforts were fruitless, for nothing happened.

Soon, all of the switches but one began reading in glowing letters MARIANA; the remaining switch reading: DOCTOR. She began to hit every switch multiple times, except the one that read DOCTOR. But much to her chagrin, nothing happened. Mariana screamed with frustration, and then gaped at the panel of switches. She picked it up and catapulted it as far as she could.
As the panel hit the ground it crashed, components soared up into the void, and Mariana fell limp to the cold rock ground. As she fell, she heard a soothing digital voice say, “Sorry, but it was your decision.”

Neighbors began rushing out of their homes into the streets, heading towards the source of the scream. When they arrived, they saw Mariana, a chrome helmet with torn wires coming out of it on her head, dead in her front lawn. Jonathan was weeping over her body; a psychologist with a disappointed look had his hand on Jonathan’s shoulder.

I feel kinda bad that no one posted here, so I will. I like it. I don't think that I ever got to see that before you turned it in because I was gone that Monday. >.>
