Writer's Block. Ouch.

For a few months now, I've had serious writer's block. I can't think of anything to write about at all, and I'm getting sick of it. I want to write a good fantasy epic, but I don't know where to begin or how much backstory to come up with before I begin. I also want to write a Metroid fic, but I just don't know where to start. I don't know how to get ideas or anything. Help me out.

Those guys know how to get you CJ's flowing like a fish knows how to swim.

Usually.

Re: Writer's Block. Ouch.

I don't know what you should write about, but once you find something, write as much backstory as you can. I have been writing backstory for one idea of mine for more than two years. I also have three other ideas in a similar state of progress.

As for a Metroid fiction, just play the games again, and think about what Samus would actually be thinking. What kind of thoughts would she be having as she battles, and how does she solve puzzles? Then try to find a plot in those ideas. That's what I do when I write about anything that I did not come up with.

I hope that helps.

Cool, good advice... Hadn't thought of that. Thanks a ton.
