Into My Eye

Uh . . . here's a collection of my poems, spanning across two years. I'll start off by posting five to see if I can get any loyal readers (I can't really use "fans" now, can I?)
Some of the meanings are kind of blatant, while some of them are buried deep. If you need or want a translation, PM me.

The Throes of Rejection
Hate
No tears
Isolation
Driving knives
Fear
No life
Rejection
Can’t Cry

Stabbed by the tongues of false prophets
Preaching what lies I’ve eaten since then
Burning sulfur in the crevices of my throat
Held back tears burning where and when

Reflections of the bitter wind
Lead infinitely through the voices of then
I try to hold in the tears I cry
That fall up into the infinite sky

In my corner
I cry myself
I’m so dead
I’m not scared
You can’t tell me
Who I am
I’ll tell you
So take my hand

You may punish me for what you think I am
But only one can answer that question
I’m the only one who can say who I am
So, in my place, stop answering that question

Why do you lie,
about those you hate?
When their fate is what they create?

You can change the outlook of one
Right before you become one with the sun

You cannot choose who lives or who dies
So when you degrade, who gives you the right?

Were you born with the mask of a god?
Do you think it right to destroy someone’s heart?

The sickening truth of what you do
Is as justified as what con men do

The diversity of who we are
Makes as different from what sets us apart

Is someone different? Are they a freak?
Degrading the innocent now proves you are weak

Fate will bring, in time, what you deserve
Put your fake stories in your infernal reserves

Choose
Who
Chooses
You
Choose
Who
ruins
You
Look
down
Into the
Well
And at the end
You’ll realize you’ve failed

To the Clouds
The clouds rotate upon such grace
To fall down upon our face
To the mortals the sky is blue
Water in the earth brings life anew
Snow falls down from the frozen sky
Poisons the water and fishes die
A monstrosity forms and makes skies dark
Ripping the landscape and mountains apart
Fire scorches the barren earth
Revealing the length of darkness’s girth
Steam rises up to newly make
by the torrent of the rain
The gaping mouth of the firmament’s face
Smiles down upon the river’s grace

Glass
A fire bright flickers light
As a wind blows and sends a chill
That freezes the bolts
Of the ceiling fan that rotates high
The steel cracks and the wood flies
Upon the world a splintered rain
The contact of skin to a red sweet stream
The eyes of those who once began
See a truth and ones reprimand
The sun once shone and now the moon rules all
The green grass rots and fades a dim blue
A mirror of the once high sky a now bitter dull gray
The clouds freeze over and shatter as glass
And pierce the souls of those who prove untrue
Mirrors and memories fall from the now-broken sky
And reflect the true desires of those who wish to cry
Pastels of the sunset smear as the tears of one fall
And drip into the pool of blood caused by the splinters.

Rain
Rain falls
Smells so sweet
So far down
And wets my face

These are my tears
Sadly I cry
My voice does strain
As I look to the sky

My throat is parched
But the rain quenches
What was before
Forward I march

The sun melts down
Fire crosses the land
The rivers of the moon
Blood stain the land

So dark the sky
So sweet and cold
A shell of before
For others does mold

Rain, rain
So sweet and far
mold the ground
so sweet and far

The Cycle of Life
The lines drawn smooth
Channels of your heart’s bitter ache
Stiff black leaves
What you have sacrificed
Clouds swimming behind
The white and plain sky
A White sun set in black
Falls behind the curved hills of the past
A curtain closes
And the lines of what are left
Memories along the lines
And a former place reveals
The way that life stems
From the earth of our beginning
And eternally reaches out
To touch the infinite sky
What of now is no longer born
A wave of grief washes on the serf
The moon cries out
and shells the sweet clouds
its tears fall down
And soil the earth
And give the tree life
So its shadow grows more
As long as the moon is sad
And the earth is receiving
That balance of what was is now
Remains spread out
A circle of now
Before and ahead
Resides as long as
Life turns to death

Choices
Here it is now
The song of before
A melody of sorrow
Of life’s backdoor
I’ve lived it thus far
But should I carry on?
The bill of my life’s spent
I can see my end’s dawn
An impending fear imposes
It calls out for me
Is this what is supposed?
Memories of the past
Come life a river of dark
Some of joy, some of sad
And thoughts of time to embark
Life is so short
Yet it seems so, so long
I’ve more life to live
And run far along
I see a new light
Of legacies beyond
Of the life I’ve lived
I am not too fond
The knife calls down
I could end it now
But something stops me
My time isn’t now
I cry out to be delivered
From pain’s caress
It embraces me tight
My soul is weightless

What of Now
Midnight lights
upon my brow
Fall up and down to the river of now
The crystal shores
Meet the water
Reflect the stars of now and never
Towering trees
Bring to their knees
Those who fail to meet their own needs
The thin silver glass
Shine like the lake
Show the seer’s self and of what they make
They tell themselves
What’s not the truth
And say one more that was born anew
What they say
What they are
All decided by if they go far
The cycle of life
spins far around
And consequences dealt upon those who they’ve found
Relieve yourself
Of what you’ve done
Or upon you, you will have but one
One more life
You cannot live
The most of what you have will be what is

Undone
My thoughts surround me
They losses myself
I can’t think of me
Never of myself

My feelings are loose
Ready to give
Available to anyone
Who wishes to live

My heart is for you
As well as my thoughts
The remind me and you
Of the battles we’ve fought

Of strife and despair
And feelings dismaying
Now my thoughts
Alone are now straining

They tighten up
And are mine once more
I control myself
Help me some more

Help me be the person I once was
Of kindness and compassion
Help me you must

I slave away these endless nights
Wandering who I am
Now I believe the choice is mine
Live, or forever be damned

Drowning
I grow sick with regret and worry
Illness comes to me in a hurry

My feelings shout
My conscious pouts

I drown in my own self
A monster I do create
I take my soul
And put it on my shelf
Over my life I do debate

I am flooded with thoughts
Drenched in feeling
It hurts so much
So much I am kneeling

I am waist-high in doubt
For help I do shout

My life rises
My life lowers
Your life I envy
For you have free shoulders

Mine are worn
With responsibility
Torment and delight
But at the end
Of every dark tunnel
There is a freeing light

What do We Mean?
Why do pledge allegiance,
if no one stands true?
Why are we a nation,
If no one stays through?
Why do we swear oaths,
If no one speaks true?
Why do we promise,
If no one goes through?

We live life as hypocrites
Going against what we teach
We need to listen to what we say
And practice what we preach

Sandstorm
The wind picks up speed
The sands never heed
Burning grains pierce the flesh
And they pain is never to cease

The scorching sun shines
Melting every mind
The beating down of the shining orb
Melts the gears of time

All seems slow
And when no one knows
The heat grows more intense
The blistering winds blow

The ground becomes parched
Onward your feet march
The pain becomes excruciating
The end becomes time’s start

Alone
The rain
I hear
around
myself
alone
I stand
alone
I meld
my heart
is cold
my blood
does freeze
alone
I stand
in this
world
with
me

Dooshe Ublachette
This world is full of randomness
People speak in gibberish
I can’t understand myself
My sanity, like others, I do miss

Are you sane?
Are you lame?
Are you nice?
Will you stay?

What is life:
a game or prize?
A piece of cake,
that’s filled with strife

Like vibrant colors
a-twirl and confused
The nonexistent language
Is of me and you

The Hole
It reaches down
So far and wide
Monsters dark
In its chambers reside
The red glow of the bats’ eyes
A farewell kiss to the victim’s demise
Falling down
There’s no way to go
The darkness leads to
No one will know
Is there a bottom?
That question remains
But the truth is hidden
And, by the pit, dismayed

Imagery of Joy
Clear bright days
And the sun shining high
White billows called clouds
Float lazily by the by

Sweet emerald grass
Wind caresses the fields
The sweet scent of days to come
Of joy never to yield

Birds sing with singsong joy
And the day moves on
Then the drapes of night are drawn
After the setting of the sun

Beautiful stars
Dot the midnight sky
And still the clouds
Float by the by

The scent of the morning
So far and faint
Rests on waters
And lies on the banks

Cards of Life
My eyes become heavy
My thoughts become unclear
Weariness exceeds my limits
I can barely hear

My throat becomes raspy
My throat becomes dry
Thirst engulfs my entire being
I cry out to the sky

Famished I feel inside myself
I am brought to my knees
With my suffering and eternal pain
I cannot be brought to ease

The rain comes down and fills the streams
I open my mouth in hope
So much pain and suffering
Born from life’s gentle slopes

But a few drops from the sky
Hit my screaming tongue
Crying myself to dehydration
Air escapes my lungs

As I lay there on the earth
Whispering to myself
I realize what has happened was caused
By the cards of life I’ve dealt

Unity in Unmarked Rhythm

What’s your name?

I have no name, no reason for existence, my face has no
definition, my life is transparently nonexistent

What are you?

I am the embodiment of unmarked rhythm, dancing
in the showery waters of ice-laden clouds

Where do you come from?

I come from the flaws of desperation, perspired by those
who strive to fly, to be worthy of existence

Why are you here?

I am here to dance in my unmarked rhythm, to bring a
sense of sincerity to the chaos of clumsy dancers
Now tell me, what is your name?

My name is that of those who cry from planes of existence
unknown and unseeable by the human mind

What are you?

I’m the disembodiment of unity, sewing seeds of chaos under my
many names, growing plants that weed into sublimality

Where do you come from?

I come from the minds and souls of desperation, pleading beyond
the desperation, perspired by the will to existent

Why are you from?

I’m here to dance in my defined rhythm, to bring a shout of
despair to the peacefulness of graceful dancers

Where are you going?

I’m leaving for the moon, to bask in eternity in its blue
glow, gleaming in my eyes, where love is reflected
Now tell me, where are you going?

I’m leaving for the sun, to radiate in eternity in the
bright glow, shining in eyes where love is reflected

Sewn in the Moon and Sun
In a world of no name
People with no face
dance in the wind
of an unmarked rhythm

Stanzas fading
Collide into obscuring glows
a chaotic glitch chaotic a
Obscuring glows collide into
Fading stanzas

One is white
the other black
Both mix in
an unmarked glass
Push it over
it breaks in the soil
Love is born
now comes the toil

Give unity a body
Give love a form
Give unmarked rhythm a life
Dance with me in the storm

Because in the end
love is one
Now we’re both
Sewn in the Moon and Sun

Arexin
Slipping . . .
Struggling to keep my grip
Falling . . .
Struggling not to slip
Dying . . . I’m not ready to let go
Crawling
I’m not yet ready to know

I’m trying to stay awake
My eyelids are like lead, I can’t concentrate
I see two worlds conjoined to one
I can’t stay awake

My grip weakening, I’m ready to let go
My thoughts eluding, I’m ready to let go

Like an overdose on sleeping pills
I can only succumb to whatever binds me
But I still continue to fight
Because I can stay if I hold on tight

Waves of Fate
Standing on the waves, I’m ready to leave
I hold my breath
Waiting to leave this all behind me
And destroy the rest
Upon the crests a new hope now shines
Illuminating strife
And fades into the washing serf
One more new life
It’s okay to stop carrying on
So the lies say
But you can’t swim from your fate
So the truths say

What Is?
What is fate?
What is destiny?
What is karma?
What are we?

I live in an unknown world
Surrounded by white, my thoughts twirl
Here I live in an unknown mind
I don’t know, I’m losing my mind
What is truth?
What’s a lie?
If we believe,
Will we fly?

Soar . . .
Clouds
Cold
Death
Life
Soar . . .
Fall
Loud
Sink
Rebound
Soar . . .
Above
Below
Relive
Dreams
Soar . . .

If you look above the clouds
Can you pull back the pitch black shroud?
If you stare into the face of the sun
With the world, will you become one?
Sensationalization of a long-dead world
Infatuated by the face of a girl
You tell yourself you’re more than yourself
But you trust your own mental health?
Exclamations
Renovations
Sublimations
Desolation

You desensitize the truth you once had
Lost in translation, you’re driven mad
Caught in the excitement of a dying fad
You come to realize you’ve lost what you’ve had

Is it worth crying?
Is it worth dying?
Is it worth lying?
Is it worth finding?
I you can’t carry on
Why should you go on?
If you can’t answer one
Why should I become one?

What is?
What was?
What will?
What caused?
What can?
What did?
What will?
What is?

Re: Into My Eye

Wow. Where do I start?
All of your poems are very pleasant to read - mellifluous, rhythmic, deep, moving. And now I'll go through the individual ones.

The harsh tone of The Throes of Rejection immediately drew me in. The second and third stanzas, I thought, contrasted very well. One felt sharp, dark, burning; and the other was cold and vast. I love the way those led to a simple, honest stanza. And the last stanza was very interesting to read.

I don't think I've dug deep enough in To the Clouds. I'll have to read that over again. But as it was, the imagery is very vivid and powerful; a dramatic portrayal of the elements.

Glass, yet another trove of details. It seemed to me it started out with literal descriptions that seamlessly blend into metaphors. I also enjoyed the juxtaposition of the glassy, splintery images and the fluid, red ones. My favourite lines are:
Quote:
Mirrors and memories fall from the now-broken sky
And reflect the true desires of those who wish to cry
Rain is very melodious. It feels very modest and sincere to me. Beautiful imagery in the fourth and fifth stanzas.

More clear imagery in The Cycle of Life. True to its title, the words just flow from one image to the next.

I guess I've written enough for now. Consider me your loyal reader, and post more soon!

Incredible.

In all honesty, you didn't exactly strike me as the writing type at first, but I stand corrected. You've got some real talent, I really couldn't find anything wrong.

Keep them coming, and consider me one of your 'loyal readers' as well. =] *Thumbs up*

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to read them, as well as like a respond to! It's nice to know that they don't only sound good to myself anymore! As for To the Clouds, the meaning's in there, don't gove up hope!

Throes of Rejection did its job, and gracefully too, as did Glass. In Rain, that was quite the image I was painting. The Cycle of Life I hoped would be clear, and indeed it was.

Thanks for the comments and compliments!

Re: Into My Eye

That was quick.

Choices
is very interesting at that it seems light and dark at the same time. Despite the writer's struggle with his bleak choice, there's an aura of hope that permeates throughout. It's apparent in the words you choose to use.

I absolutely love What of Now, especially the imagery used in the first half. Such a sense of reflectivity. The steady short-short-long rhythm makes it extremely pleasant to voice out, and it's also a change from your other poems.
Quote:
Midnight lights
upon my brow
Fall up and down to the river of now
The crystal shores
Meet the water
Reflect the stars of now and never
Love, love those lines.

The sixth stanza of Undone stood out with less lines. It felt like a sort of pleading aside. Overall, the poem sounds wistful and true.

Ahh, the spring doesn't run dry. Once again you've showed your versatility with poems cheerful and sad, those introspective, and those about the natural world.

Re: Into My Eye

Oh me oh my. I just happened to stumble upon your poetry. I scanned them lightly, but they are amazing.

The chopiness of the first lines of The Throes of Rejection give it a razor sharp feeling, adding to the immense feeling built by this poem. And I must say I love these lines:

Quote:
Why do you lie,
about those you hate?
When their fate is what they create?
And this;

Quote:
Choose
Who
Chooses
You
Choose
Who
ruins
You
I don't know why, but that choose thing is amazing.

Rain is abusolutley beautiful, beautiful and inspiring.

Alone...wow. Just wow. It may have been short, but it was pretty damn powerful, to me at least. I liked the 'Alone, with me.' part. I don't know why. I guess it emphasizes on being alone.

Your poems seem to really focus on the elements, and your vocabulary really helps with that. You paint such nice pictuers with words, it makes me peaceful.

I love it, you can count on me stopping by again.

Re: Into My Eye

Pardon me for not saying much last time. I had trouble expressing myself without sounding repetitive.

But Unity in Unmarked Rhythm is genius! It really is like a duet with rhythm and dancing, and I love the symmetry - the variations on a theme type of writing and the reversing of certain phrases. Ending with 'Where are you going', the moon and the sun, is absolutely brilliant!

Thanks, Val! I also wrote another poem called Sewn in the Moon and Sun which relates to Unity in Unmarked Rhythm . I'll post it tomorrow!
