"Who Are You?" ...a new song I just finished writing...

“Who Are You?”

Lay me down into the ground
And find my pieces yet to be found
Because I am broken
And only you can find them

Bones splintering the earth
Dusty hollows covering the birth
Let’s keep the truth far out sight
Let the mind slip deep into the night
Oh, the night is cold

Words are air off the tongue
Barely whispered as they float among
The lost, the hopeful, and the hopeless
And I ask myself
Who am I?

Just before your arms wrap around me
Just before the frost of your breath touches me
I close my eyes
Just before the ghost of your past haunts me
Just before I am taken back again
Under my breath I ask you why, why now?

Spider webs of translucent blue
Delicate threads of something true
Line the limbs of a broken tree
Crooked fingers pointing straight at me
Do I really know?

Just before your eyes conquer me
Just before the edge of my frayed sanity
I close my eyes
Just before the ghost of my past haunts me
Just before I am taken back again

Could it be what’s lost can be found?
Is lost just a desolate mask of doubt?

So whatcha' think? I'm in the weee hours of the morning......lol..i couldn't stop writing.

I think its awesome. i can't write songs but i know what makes a good one, and that one (with a few good guitar riffs, a bit of base and drums) is awesome.

Wow, your first post dedicated to me! Thanks for the compliment and that would be so awesome to make some riffs for this thing...*gets out Ibanez*

Relatively good song. I think it sounds a lot like the more mainstream rock ones today, but I live in the era of Classic rock.

I love my Ibanez o_0. It's all just a matter of taste. Although I will get another guitar in the near future, I think mine is pretty nice for the price and brand. It's an RG1570, not too bad I don't think :-P And I tend to drift into different types of writing. My music style and preference ranges from "today's" to "classic" and everywhere in between. I don't know. I just write what I feel. Just interesting you were able to slip it into a category, lol.

Thank you shadowthief I'm not in a band, but I think it'd be fun to be in one...Just haven't found the right people and/or had "enough" experience yet. So yeah. I've been writing more than I've been playing, lol. Thanks again for your comments, they're appreciated.
