help me (edited version)

I look left,
I look right.
No matter which way I look
You're not seen.
Darkness spreads,
Threatening to engulf me.
I try to run,
No movement is made.
I try to speak,
Nothing is heard.
I scream your name
And I finally get sound.
But then it comes back,
Slicing through me to cause pain.
I wake up suddenly,
tears srteam down my eyes.
The door bell rings
So late at night.
I go get to find you,
My light that keeps me safe.
You wipe my tears,
Whispering that you knew;
You knew that I needed you.

This is a poem that my teacher entered me into a poetry contest for. I got into the top ten people to win a prize. I fixed it up so it made more sense. I hope you all like it.
