Knight's Poems and Songs

After much thought, I have decided to post some of my poems and songs since everybody else has been. I'll start with a couple of poems I wrote back in 2001 then later I'll add some of my more recent ones, as well as a couple of my songs.


The Journey of Life

Going through life
Is like a journey
But you don’t have buses,
Or trains or planes
Just your feet and your thinking

Thinking consists of many things
Your emotions, your values
The way you see the world
It consists of what other people say
Or do, or how they act

People affect you in every way
Shape or form
People close to you
People far away from you
People you don’t even know

But people who are close to you
Affect you the most
They hurt you the most
They break your heart the most
From them, you lose the most

When they hurt you
You feel in pain
You feel depressed
You feel sad
You feel enraged

But eventually you move on
Whether it’s from time
Or from circumstances
Or the things that person does
That makes you move on

Life is a journey
Traveled by walking
And thinking
Through the good times and the bad
You will finally get where you want to go


Fate

I know you loved him,
Many did.
It’s to be expected,
He was a great kid.

I know he’s not a kid,
But a man in his own right.
And you will never forget that
Through the day or the night.

I know he was a great brother,
Cousin, nephew, son.
And you never wanted to lose him
But now the deed is done.

I know you believe
In fate and destiny.
So his time has come
It had to be.

I know you’re sad he’s gone
But he isn’t really.
He’s in the wind and the rain
And everything you’re feeling.

I know you loved him,
Many did.
But he’s here in spirit,
He’s still a great kid.

Those were awesome Knightlark! Wow...yet another ZUer that was secretly a poet, heh. ^_^ Those were both amazing, and had great messages to them. I can't wait to read some more of your stuff! ^_^

Wow, Knightlark. Your poetry is quite fantastic. I'm quite impressed. 'Fate' was really sad and really well written. The Journey of Life I think can speak to everyone, as we all understand heartbreak and how life is made up of good and bad. Very good poems, Knightlark, can't wait to see more!

I think we all can relate to this part, right up there.

These were really good, you're very talented! Fate reminded me of my deceased cousin...I like the way you added a feel of hope and comfort into that poem, even though it was about the loss of a loved one.

Okay, time for another couple of poems from me. Hooray! But before I do, I'll give you a little bit of background on the two poems I've already posted. I wrote both poems in 2001 for different events. Fate was written when the son of a friend of ours was killed in a car crash. I wrote that poem for the family to give some some condolence.

On the other hand, The Journey of Life was written when my crush at the time really hurt me by some of the things he was doing... coincidently, he didn't hurt me enough since I ended up going out with him a couple of months later. It's funny how things work.

Now for my next two poems.... I'll give you the background to them next time I post. Enjoy!

Faith

When you go to church
There are many things you’re taught
Like to believe in Jesus
And that faith cannot be bought.

You’re told about the disciples
About the prophets too
Also about Moses
Who turned the waters to red from blue.

You hear about Jesus dying
And His rising again
You’re told the story of Noah
And the forty days of rain.

You learn about all these things
And about many more
You learn, so you’ll be prepared
When you reach Heaven’s door.



I miss you

In the short amount of time
That I’ve known you
I’ve come to understand
Some of the things you do

You’re not like me
Or any of my friends
In fact you’re very different
From your beginnings to your ends

I don’t know why the day I met you
I felt something deep inside
And now that I’ve realised it
I can’t just push it aside

I know you used to like
A friend of mine before
But maybe you’ve left that behind
And will let me through the door

Do I want to be rid
Of these feelings in my heart
I know I cannot tell you
You’ll pierce them like a dart

Now you’ve stopped talking to me
I don’t understand why
I can’t understand you
You used to make me fly

You’ve let me down now
Since you moved away
Why did you do that?
Why couldn’t you stay?

We always used to talk
Most of the time during the day
But then you left me
You just threw me away

I really miss you now
I miss you in my life
Please come back to me
Or it’ll cut so, like a knife

It doesn’t matter if
As yours you won’t take me
But at least remain my friend
So we stay the same, like the sea.



Although the sea is not the same
From one day to another
But it doesn’t matter
I’ll still love you like a brother

But you’re not my brother
That, you’ll never be
But does it really matter?
You’ll always be truest to me

I don’t care what others say
About how you’ve hurt me so
Or how you’ve hurt my friends
I’ll never let you go

So long as you can change
My heart I’ll give to you
But don’t just throw it away
Or I’ll be really blue

To you my heart belongs
And the one thing you could give
Would be your heart to me
With that I could surely live

I want to be with you
Forever and a day
But I know that’ll never happen
So friends, I wish we’ll stay
