Tragic poems

Err, this is the first time I've ever posted in the art & writing section, with my own work, so I'm a little nervous on this >_>. To say this is my first poem, I'd like to know if it's good, and yes, I'll be posting more works soon. :=)

Wartime

Loud explosions, on the streets,
soldiers marching, all in fleets.
Houses scattered to the ground,
bombs exploding into cloud.

Searchlights dazzling soldiers above,
evacuee's taken out of love.
On the pathway, my mother I see,
"come on home, along with me.."

It might be very short, but what the heck? It's still a poem, no? >_> Comments would be nice, please. ^_^

Wow... I really loved it. Especially the ending line. That gave me a chill. Write more, please!
