Romantic Poetry

Sometimes at night, I wonder about my future. I think to myself, is this all there is to life?
And I respond, no. There is love. There is that powerful, unstoppable force that is love.

Sometimes, when I feel this way, I sit down and write. These are the words which flow from my mind, into my fingertips, and onto the paper...

AGAPE
(Note: Agape is the Latin term for True Love)

Agape.
Love.
What do I mean?
Who do I see that I love?
I see her, standing before me.
Her hair, full of the fragrance I know is hers.
Her eyes that make me slave to a single moment.
Her skin, so soft and warm like swan feathers.
I am hers.
She is mine.
We are bonded.
Unbreakable.
Her presence that hits me almost painfully.
Her smile that makes all things shine.
Her touch that sets me ablaze.

But No.
I don't know where she is.
I don't know when I'll find her.
But I still love her.
Where is she, the one who I close my eyes to see?
When will I hear the words meant for only me?
Don't know when.
Don't know how.

But I know what will happen then.
I will love her until I break.
I will give until I am nothing left.
I will sacrifice until I am nothing.
But still something.

Forever. Bonded. Eternity.
Floating in the particles of sunlight.
Deep within the Earth.
Dancing in the sky.
Forever in the wind, the sea, the moon, stars, and all the corridors of infinity.

This is my maxim, the code that I live by.
This is my journey,
My pilgramage and quest.

Agape. Love.
That is what it means.

SILENT FIRE

A Holy Fire is burning
Blessed by the almighty ones above
Fueled by compassion
Lit by desire
And a burning testament to humanity.

It burns within and will not stop.
But I want it to burn and consume me whole.
Your radiant fire.
Your sweet holy fire.
That burns silently in the darkness.

Your light guides me
On a road that is riddled with obstacles.
Without you I am blind
And stumbling in the dark.

Far away, I can still see the soft flames.
And when near you are a raging bonfire.
Coursing though me and filling me with your warmth.
When I am cold and alone
Your fire keeps me alive
And vanquishes the shadows within.

I hear the whispers of the almighty in my ears.
I am not worthy to step into the light.
But you beckon me to come
And join you.
I cannot go back.
There is no way I’ll ever go back to the darkness.
That I once lived in before.

We burn like a wildfire
A blazing torch that can never go out.
You fuel my fire
And release the one I am within.
And together,
Our love sets fire to a thousand suns of spring.

I am lost,
Groping in the dark without your sweet, holy fire.

SOMETHING I JUST NOTICED

I have something to say to you.
But it’s really hard to say it directly to your face.
So here I am, writing it down for you.

There’s just something that I noticed one day
I was walking in and I saw you there
Sipping that coffee and laughing with your friends

In that moment something struck me
As I looked upon you.
Simply living your life the way you always do.

I noticed your shining, radiant hair.
I noticed your cheery disposition.
I noticed your sense of humor.

And I began to realize something that had always been there
And yet for some reason up to now
I hadn’t noticed it.

When you smile, I smile too.
When you cry, I cry with you.
When you need help, I rise to the challenge.

It’s strange.
That we’ve known each other for so long.
And Yet only now I realize why we are so close.

For you see,
What I’m trying to say to you…

Is that I’m in love with you.

DON'T LET ME DIE ALONE

I feel it now, here, in the dark.
The inky blackness that surrounds me.
An emptyness in my soul that many people like me share.
But many people seem to be confused.
They are trying to fill that emptyness,
with trivial things that can never really fufill them.

My emptyness is different.
I don't want the newest clothes.
I don't want to control others.
I don't want gourmet foods.
I don't want to be the person everyone talks about.

All I want
All I ever really want
I someone with me
So that I'm not alone in the dark.

I want to hold her gently,
Give her that loving embrace,
and tell her that I love her.

I want this, more then enything in this world.
I'll throw away the stain of material possesions,
give up all that I have become,
just to let you touch me
just to let you hold me
let you trust me
and I in you.

Please, I need this from you.
Don't leave me here...
I beg of you...
Don't let this soul die broken and shattered,
cold and unsheltered from the pain of the elements.
Don't let me become isolated from the world
please...
please...
I'm afraid...
to die alone...
I ask you,
I beg of you,
I plead....
show me your love,
and nothing more.

So beautiful and romantic! And your style is so different, so compassionate! ^^ I loved them all! The last one was pretty cool, since I'm used to writing angst poetry such as that, so I can relate. (If I was a boy...but I'm not...<.<)

Blue Knight, your poetry is wonderful! Your style is quite interesting, and the fact you don't conform to a certain length, as pertaining to each individual line, gives this collection a singular feel. My favourite poems were 'Silent Fire' and 'Something I Just Noticed'. The first verse of 'Silent Fire' was captivating, and I loved the conclusion of 'Something I Just Noticed'!
