In honor of 'Speak Like Shakespeare Day'
Having been thusly informed that today is 'Speak Like Shakespeare Day, I have the following sonnet:
The Sorrows of a Man
When I look upon your lonely face,
Shining when you smile.
I see beauty, wisdom, grace,
And the scars of many a trial.
Oh how I long to be with you;
To be able to see you in full,
But alas you are gone when new.
To be without you is too cruel.
Your face I may never touch.
'Tis not for me, 'twill never be
Something I could do. For such
A man as I hath not that ability.
If ever I were to touch your face I'd swoon.
Yet I may never get to set foot on the moon.
-----------
Firstly, I never really was very fond of sonnets, however, when told to write one for school credit, this is what I wrote.
Secondly: Enjoy!
