"Lament" lyrics

"Lament" is a song that was originally written for the A Future Lost (a book I'm writing) soundtrack. Yes, a soundtrack for a book. Don't ask. Anyway, I also posted it to the official ZU Mother's/Father's Day Song Contest thread as an example. The song itself is about a young boy who lost his father. It's a sad song, so don't read the lyrics if you don't like sad songs. I began to cry while I was writing them in Word.

In this non-A Future Lost context, I dedicate this song to all whom have lost a parent as a child. I personally have not, but I know there are people out there who have. This song is for them.

I like the ambiguousness you put in there.

I mean, since it's for Mother's/Father's Day, I assume that something that he couldn't control happened to your father.

But it can also be interpreted in a few other ways, which makes it very interesting.

I hadn't even meant to write it that way, but when I was thinking about submitting it for the contest, I saw that it could be about a mother, too. Or anybody for that matter.

Oh, and just to clear things up with anybody that thought my father died, he didn't. Both of my parents are still alive and well.
