Broken Tree-The Poetry of NC

Ok, I'm gonna try this 'Poetry Corner' deal. I'm not the best, but some of my stuff, I think is worthy of being viewed by others, so, here is a few to start(Sorry this is a long first post, the others won't be this long probably...unless, the poem is long):

Broken Tree
------------------------
No healing...
No breathing
Nothing can save me now
I'm falling down...
to the cold burning ground.
Mending the past,
bonds that could not last.
Forget the known,
You know nothing now.
can you not hear the groan,
of a dying man,
looking for rag,
to wipe up his memorys.
one of tears and stains of grief...
you know nothing..
of mending a Broken Tree.
One whoms limbs
tear and bleed.
The fruit of it's troubles,
nothing but relentless
rain, always pouring,
Ignore the morning of the lost...
As we stare apon the cost
of holding this world together.
The end is near of the winds feathers.
The memories of the past...
floating onto everlast...
the stand of time...
like the bitter taste of victory
when you have no seed...
to mend a Broken Tree....
One whose limbs tear and bleed.
One who is lonely under blue,
One who's heart is broken true...
Never let me bleed...
Apon this mended tree...
My blood is tainted...
for I am a Broken Tree...

Protecter
------------------------
I watch as the tears stream down...
falling into your hands.
Resting a finger apon your cheek...
catching the fallen dreams...

With such gentle care,
I wipe them away from there.
Pull you close to me,
shield you from the obscene.

Hold you in my arms...
Look into your eyes...
protect you from any harm...
If I fail, at least I've tried...

I'll be here for you...
You can hold my words true.
Pull me close to you...
for I love you too...

I'll take you by the hand...
lead you to a fairy land...
where it's just me and you...
cause our love is true...

I want to have you in my arms...
right beside of me...
Giving you my love...
be it push or shove...

I will always be,
the one you can see...
when you need a hug...
or want some love.

You can count on me...
I'll always be,
on call for you...
Because...I love you...

Broken Tree is truly moving, flowing, and has some very beautiful imagery. In particular, these lines caught my attention:

Summer Night
------------------------
Lying awake
Nothing to do...
In the night,
all is quite...
familiar...to me.
I listen to the crickets,
play their soothing,
summer, sonnet.
My friends, of the trees,
looking down over me.
The sound of water,
around the bend.
It flows away,
like falling rain.
It's sound, simple and smooth.
The fireflies,
of paradise,
dot my sky,
with starry light.
No moon in sight,
no coyote's plight.
Serenity is so bliss,
simple as a kiss.
Confusing thoughts,
make the change.
Turn the river,
towards the moon...
nothing new,
but there's always,
time...to...move...


Tale of a shoe
------------------------
I heard of a tale...
one of splenderous detail...
Of a boy who once knew,
of another man's shoe.

The little boy loved the man's shoe.
Lil' brass groments, leather lacing too.
The boy would stare in wonderous awe,
as the man walked down, the grovery hall.

The little boy became enveous,
and his thoughts became devious.
He wanted those shoes...
only one way to get them, this way he knew.

He waited for the man to go home,
waited in the night, till almost dawn.
He snuck into the house,
not a sound was made, not even by, an old grey mouse.

The boy wandered to the man's room,
at the bottom of the bed, the pride and the gloom.
The boy had the chance,
If he did the deed, sure to come, good finance.

He took the shoes and carried them out,
down to his little booth, so excited, he trieded not to shout.
When he arrived at his small resting place,
he sat the shoes down, with carful grace.

Out from the wall, came a small little drawer.
In side of it; shoe shine, polish, and more.
He took out the finest, polish he owned,
and found a clean rag, oh so very long.

He began to polish, the shoes very lightly,
Then finished the toe and looked at it birhgtly.
He continued with the rest of the shoe,
and made it, so brillantly new.

He continued and finished both of the shoes,
Then he took them careful as he knew.
Snuck back to the house, and beside the bed, placed the man's shoes.
He left the house, his deed done true.

Anyway, I have a new one, sort of like a riddle...

Chaos
------------------------
Uniformed Chaos...
beckoning the shadow.
Lures it in with silent stills,
ones of supreme and infant deals.
The Chaos knows no bounds,
it runs wild, thoughtout.
It's only limitation,
is i't on confrontation.
Chaos against Uniformed Chaos,
One of bitter, the other sweet.
Attack apon the rampart's high,
Chaos, continues on,
no boundries in sight.
The protector has no secrets,
the Chaos knows all.
The Protector fights for it's thoughts,
but looses a battle, never fought.
The Chaos comes to everything's end,
the unknown, known, and unimaginable.
One can say, the Uniformed and non,
are both interchangable,
consisting of good and bad.
Chaos, Uniformed Chaos.
You cannot have one,
unless the other is done.
What is the Chaos?

I don't know how I could've missed all those...
Anyway, I think it's alright to post consecutively in your own thread.

My Rose: Brief but sweet.

Summer Night: Sleek and sublime, the words flow smoothly and bring forth realistic but breathtaking images. I enjoyed your descriptions of the various sounds and lights.

Tale of a shoe: What a noble story! There's a nice, friendly rhythm to it, and brilliant word choices.

Chaos: I think I understand what you're trying to say. Yes, it's clearer after several readings. An intriguing thought, and you've expressed it well.

And you thought I was gone, didn't you all?

You don't only have one fan anymore! Your poetry is smooth, and I got a answer to "What is Chaos?" Its everything, you and me. In greek mythology Chaos was the quilted Blanket that made everything and was everything. I liked the Rose one, it was short- but sweet. Keep up the good work.

Alrighty, here is another one, haven't wrote one in a while, so here it is. It's alright, maybe not my best work, but sounds pretty good. Oh and don't laugh.

Rainbow
-------------------
I have my own little rainbow,
it shows my true colors.
My Reds, Greens, Blues, and Yellows,
all forming my rainbow of color.

It glides apon my every whim,
landing at the rivers edge.
Betwixt now and then,
it survives on bitter wind.

The Reds show my anger,
constricting the soul.
Green being my courage,
holding my ground.

The Blues show my sorrow,
it grips my warm heart.
But my Yellow,
brings Cheer from afar.

I sit apon my rainbow,
watching the world from above,
I look apon the horizion,
the sun is due to set.

My rainbow will not last much longer,
away it goes beyond the blue yonder.
As it dissipates above the clouds,
it takes forever, for me to come down.

Yea, Yea, it's about a rainbow, but it's my rainbow

That reminds me alot of one of Dr. Seuss's book. Did you get your inspiration from it??? Anyways, I like it. It's not funny, and only immature jerks would. Good job and keep up the good work!

Ha, thanks. Nope I didn't get it from Dr. Seuss, although I see him as a very respectable poet

Anyway, I thought I would just restart this thing, mainly for one poem that I wrote for my best friend, but still, I might continue in my writings.

Yea, some parts are kind of elementary, but it's what I meant by them.

Ooh. I like these. The puncuation confused a lot at some parts, though. I would say I like Broken Tree the most of the ones you have posted here.

Ah, you have some very, very beautiful poetry, NC. I'm sorry I haven't read any of these earlier. I liked "Upon an Angel's Lips" quite a bit... it seemed... younger, more innocent, than some of your other poems you've posted (particularly the things like 'Broken Tree'). Despite that, it still is very sad.... or perhaps meloncholy would be a better word, because it depicts all those happier times throughout it. I think it's a theme everyone can relate to -- having to say goodbye to a very dear friend/loved one -- and you captured the feelings of it beautifully.

I'd love to see some more of your work, so get to posting again soon! ^_^
