We ZUBC staffers don't want to be the only ones coming up with all the ideas, so if you've got one, share it!

This thread is for the proposal of new ideas for either podcast.

If you simply have an idea, share it.
If you want to try making a piece yourself, AWESOME!
-but please tell us your idea first!

If you'd rather keep your ideas top secret, notify the "in-charge" people for whichever Cast your idea is for.

Oh, I'm sure the day will come.

but it has to be a real giggle, not a pre-planned giggle, so just keep listening

Some ZUers are natural complainers. It would be quite enterntaining if you had a small section where a selected ZUer (The same one every time, so they would get to know and love him/her.) complained about a certain topic that they'd perviously chosen. E.G. "You know what I hate; ads on dvds. I mean, you've already paid for it so why have ads on it as well...etc."

I thought that was what Cody's annoying rant was for.

Cody has an amazing ability to accidentally break his headsets in different ways and currently is saving for his fifth.

Does this mean no annoying rant? That would make many sad.

I'd enjoy doing a live debate. I think many people would.

I think it'd be intersting, I mean, an actual debate of some sort of at least semi-serious topic. The two debators (or there could be more, but I think 2 would be better to listen to) would be notified of a topic ahead of time. There would be a moderator for the debate as well, which could be one of the hosts. It wouldn't HAVE to be videogame/zelda related either, but any kind of topic could do.

Unless if we already have something like this, but all the podcasts I've listened to don't really have an actual STRUCTURED debate. xD It's just Cody's rants which everyone does love I'm sure?

Personally, I know a podcast's main focus is the discussion and talking, but when I listen to one sometimes I feel like ... there's less actual segments, and more so of just hosts talking in organized rambles on about things without a direction. Not that it's sometimes not interesting, but just a debate in one of them every so often would add another demension to the podcast. :]

we are working on that. in the upcoming Zcast, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a timeline debate/discussion.

the hosts have had debates/discussions amongst themselves about things like username length, and zelda rumors, etc. Hombre talked with erimgard about zelda theorizing, but it wasnt really a debate.

basically, I'm saying we haven't really gotten the whole debate thing down, as in, getting 2 people of opposing opinions to sit down and chat, with a moderator, although it's something we've always intended to have. we'll get there.

feel free to suggest a topic and/or potential debators!

Ah, alright, that sounds good then. Yeah, I think that as long as we don't get too caught up in the whole idea of just debating for the sake of having a debate, I think it'd be neat to bring up different topics and get new ideas from both debators and what they have to say about a particular topic.

Obviously both debators would need to have a webcam/microphone and be able to communicate at the same time. As for some topic ideas, I don't have that many in mind at the moment...but yeah, there are tons.

-Debating the "best zelda game"
-Link's love life (Zelda? Malon? Even that zora chick?)
- Zelda Timeline theories (this could even be serious, I don't know, haha)


More serious topics (These would include non-zelda things as well obviously) They would also have to make sure that both debators are obviously mature and would NOT by any means ever be inappropriate at any moment...

Violence in Video Games (this would really be intersting)

Global Warming
The Insanity Plea
Politics in general
Genetic Cloning/Altering
Stem Cell research
Abortion


That's just a few to name the least, I mean there's really no end to the list..

Anything can work for a debate as long as the people can stand their ground and make a good conversation off of it. : p

Debates/Discussions are something I love about podcasts I listen to, so I am in full support of this idea, although it has already somewhat been implemented. The only real issue and difference is that the Community 'Cast here focuses on so many different things per cast, because it is a monthly release, rather than a weekly deal. When you don't have it being released on a frequent basis, you don't want to spend the entire time talking about two or three different subjects, and to get a good debate or discussion going you need to commit more time than the five or ten minutes most of the sections on the podcast currently get.

we actually did have a big discussion on scientology but it got scrapped because we didn't want to offend anyone or make things too heavy. We're trying to keep the cast light-hearted for the most part. I think maybe a discusison game ratings couls be interesting, though. I really don't see any of the abortion/politics things getting into a cast, though. we will perhaps choose to highlight a thread (as in, point out its existance and give a little overview) that may have a lot of good discussion going on, though.
