Agreed. I've done sound engineering for bands and stuff... and I have to keep telling them that 'putting the microphone in your mouth will not help... unless you want us to hear your saliva making it's disgusting noises in your mouth.'

Yes. I work(ed) with a media group, where we made one news each month. (We were about 7 guys from 16 to 22) And not long ago, we watched all our news from start to end, and sound was the thing that we were able to improve most by putting some small effort into.
It's not like the mic is too bad, it's just the settings that are not right. But good luck in explaining how to record a podcast with a PC mic, getting the proper levels and such. A PC mic is also often too bad, and no settings can change that.

All you need is a wire coat hanger and a pair of your mum's stockings, seriously xD. A friend of mine is a professional music producer and apparently many professional artists make their own, and using the materials I just mentioned

And of course: WELL DONE TO the ZUBC team for the second Podcast, I've listened to most of it and it sounds fantastic! Keep up the great work =)

Actually it's more used to reduce harsh S noises. And some mics even have it attached to protect it from tiny particles of spit and such. You fix breathing with wind guards/editing.

Gaaah, I hate it how Mana's voice clips caused all that stuff! I'm very sorry, it won't happen again, I promise!
