The Casual Gamer: Now hiring!

Separated from the sticked hiring thread, so that we can keep it tidy. Organizing is everything here.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Casual Gamer, it's basically this:

Nintendo's new approach on the so called "casual gamers" got me thinking. Who are these casual gamers, and how much do they actually know about gaming? Usually, casual gamers are people who play simple games once in a while. Like old folks, girls, kids, parents, everything but the hardcore crowd, really. So I decided to find people like this and ask them a bunch of questions. Check out the podcast itself for the finished first episode.

Right, after having a brief discussion with Asia, we've decided to expand the casual gamer segment of the podcast. Swedish gamers are fun enough, but how awesome wouldn't it be to ask the same kind of people from many different countries?

That's where you people come in. If you live in a country () and have the guts to get out there and ask all sorts of people about all sorts of things that concerns gaming, then you just might be the one I'm looking for. There are a few rules that you should be aware of. Simple, but important:

-You must be able to record stuff. This could be done with a simple MP3 player or whatever, as long as the cuality is adequate.
-You and the ones you interview must speak english. However if someone has some interesting views but isn't able to speak english or doesn't want to be recorded, you could summarize it yourself.
-There's no need to try all too hard though. A few good answers is enough since there'll be more reporters than you asking the same questions.
-No slackers! I want the job done in time

If you're interested or have any questions, do reply here or drop me a PM, whatever works best for you. Also, all suggestions or comments about anything regarding the Casual Gamer are welcome and I promise to answer everything. No, really.

EDIT: We're gonna focus on people from different countries. That doesn't mean that two people from the same country can't apply though, it simply means that your interviews has a slight less chance of getting in, since we'll focus on different countries.

Re: The Casual Gamer: Now hiring!

Alright, first question. I must have missed something important, but what exactly does this involve? Finding gamers in your area and interviewing them or some such?

Hm. Maybe I shouldn't take it for granted that people know exactly what the segment is about. Stupid me

Re: The Casual Gamer: Now hiring!

Really, I'm kind of tired of this whole "casual gamer" thing. I'm not a "casual" gamer. It just makes me wonder why we're marketing games towards the "casual" gamer for more cash.

Maybe not as funny as pro wrestling, but a lot more realistic.

I'm a "casual gaming apologist." Does that count?

Well the United States is pretty big. And there are ALL sorts of different people. Like I'm sure there would be different responses if you asked people in the Plains States, the Southeast, New England, the Midwest, the Rockies, or the Pacific Coast. Maybe the US should have people from different regions.

The United States is basically many countries joined by a larger government.

Sort of.

You're so wrong. you don't know ANYTHING aboutthe US, you jerk!
(actually, you're right) the us is quite different from region to region. it CAN be like a different country, especially in areas seperated by mountains, like the appalachians or the rockies... and the mississippi.

I think that's a good Idea!

It's true. Not like Canada is really big or anything.
