I’m not even close to being done with Breath of the Wild, and while I’ve had to stop myself buying many other exciting games in the last month because of that, I think Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be the game to finally tear me away from Hyrule — for at least a little while.
The game’s new “Souped-Up” trailer is very brief, but does offer a quick glimpse into the game’s new Battle Mode, a mode that wasn’t available in the original Mario Kart 8.
The video shows some of the arenas in this mode, including the new Splatoon-themed “Urchin Underpass”, as well as two returning favourites: the Wii Sports Resort-themed “Wuhu Town” and “Luigi’s Mansion”. Five different types of battle are promised, so get ready to brawl as well as race when the game drops later this month.
With Link and the Hyrule Circuit track making a return, expect more coverage on the game as we lead up to its April 28 release. Speaking of Link, look out for him at the 13-second mark!
