This initial scene from Ocarine of Time was a classic. In a tell-all scene where the Great Deku Tree lays bare the secrets of Hyrule. Link can’t help but sit down and sink in the news. The tree then grants Link with a request: to purge the world of the evil known as Ganondorf. After receiving the Kokiri’s Emerald — the Spiritual Stone of Courage — Link begins his quest into a much larger world, venturing into the depths of Hyrule like no man had ever known. The Great Deku Tree’s theme epitomizes the feeling of a world gone wrong, and it is Link who must set it right.
