When tens of millions of people turn on a game where the soul purpose is to let you and your friends create whatever you want, all the while just trying to survive the night, it’s only a matter of time before something wonderful happens.
Designer Evan Stanhope and programmer Jonathan Faulch have fulfilled millions of Zelda fan’s dreams. They have recreated the entire original Legend of Zelda overworld in Minecraft for all of us to explore in 3D goodness. The two have been working on the project for three years, and while it’s nearing completion, it’s not quite there yet. We can’t jump into the world of Hyrule via Minecraft and explore just yet, but the developers have made a 20-minute video to help ease our pain while they complete the project.
