Today’s screenshot from the official Super Smash Bros. website‘s daily updates depicts two of the series newcomers, Mega Man and Wii Fit Trainer, facing one another in the Wii U version of the game. The pair are in fact squaring off in Skyward Sword‘s Skyloft stage.
Series director Masahiro Sakurai, who takes all these screenshots during development, said on Miiverse: “An encounter in the middle of a marathon…?” The image offers a close-up view of Skyloft’s bridge, and it’s looking so detailed that it’s almost as if the characters have been hacked into a HD version of Skyward Sword itself. Notice the Loftwing soaring in the distance, too!
