Whether you enjoy cooking food, eating food, or doing both with a fun Zelda spin, the Homemade in Hyrule fan cookbook zine is back for preorders in their latest Volume II edition. The physical cookbook is a lovely eye-pleasing compilation of Zelda-inspired recipes and food-related Zelda fan art. The digital cookbook will include a food-based Zelda fan fiction collection called Kitchen Heroes in addition to everything else. Preorders for Volume II are open now through February 29. (Thank you, Leap Year.) Like the last time, the proceeds for the preorders will once again support the nonprofit organization Action Against Hunger. Real heroes can’t fight evil (or hunger) on an empty stomach, after all.
This year, Volume II will focus on the theme of home cooked cuisine, according to the following summary:
“Food plays a big role in the Zelda series, from drinking a potion, getting Elixir Soup from Grandma, or ending up with a plate of Dubious Food. This zine focuses on cooking from the comfort of home. What do we mean by home? Well, home is where the heart is, so it could include the potluck at the town square or berry picking in the backyard. We’re excluding restaurant/professional/school environments in favor of keeping it super comfy and casual!”

If Homemade in Hyrule hits a certain milestone goal in their fundraising, those who preorder Bundles 2 and 3 will also receive an adorable coordinating bookmark and a napkin. Bear in mind that those who preorder just Bundle 1 will not qualify to receive the stretch goal rewards, as the goods offered in Bundle 1 are only digital. Missed out on Homemade in Hyrule Volume I? That version is sold out, but you can still snag a physical C-grade copy for a discounted rate of $15 USD. A C-grade copy might have minor printing errors, but the C-grade zines are still functional and ready for a good Zelda-loving home. (Just like the Island of Misfit Toys, right?)
