Four million copies sold is an impressive milestone for any game, so congratulations are in order to Koei Tecmo’s teams for Age of Calamity hitting that benchmark.
That number is 300,000 up from the last time we reported on the figures back in April. As I mentioned in that article, Age of Calamity is already the bestselling Musou game made by the Japanese company. It continues to be a massive success for the franchise and both companies.

It must be a testament to the strength of Breath of the Wild as its own sort of spin-off franchise. Obviously, it’s a Zelda game, but selling so much better than its predecessor tells me that this new direction for the series is working for a lot of people.
I never thought we would get a second Hyrule Warriors, and now it seems to only be picking up more steam. Perhaps we’ll see a third title in the not-too-distant future.
