In the first system update since 2018, the Wii U patch notes show that version 5.5.5 U was released on March 1, 2021. This update includes “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience,” which echoes the last three updates in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
