Zeltik’s new video explores the mystery of Zelda’s disappearance in Breath of the Wild

Breath of the Wild’s story begins as Link awakens 100 years following the destruction of Hyrule by Calamity Ganon, a miasmic form of the classic series’ villain. Preserved within the walls of the Shrine of Resurrection, Link exits the chamber upon hearing the voice of Princess Zelda call on him to save and restore what remains of Hyrule from the scourge which had returned. Where exactly was Zelda, and how was she communicating with him a century later? YouTuber Zeltik, in his series on the mysteries of Breath of the Wild, focused his most recent video on this question.

Where was she for the 100 years leading up to the start of the game? Zeltik reflects that there are several theories of where she may have been during this period while Link was within the walls of the Shrine of Resurrection. Had she died in her clash with Ganon? And if so, how was she communicating with Link?

One of these theories is that Zelda is a spirit at the end of the game when reunited with Link, while another suggests that Zelda was actually in another dimension while she communicated with Link telepathically. Finally, Zeltik explores the possibility that Zelda is trapped within the cocoon hanging from the ceiling within Hyrule Castle.
