Help me, oh wisened computer geniuses!!
Hi all! Basically, on attemtping to download an audio file, Windows asked me if I wanted to open the media player or something and play the file through that, rather than download it first.
To cut a long story short, whenever I attempt to download a media file, my Media Player pops up and won't let me download the file either. I've looked through my internet settings but can't seem to correct it. Can anyone help? |

Thanks, Mercutio- I didn't think of that. That'll allow me to download until I sort this properly, because...
What I meant though is does anyone know how to undo the option of having the Media Player jump up every time I want to download something? It's bloody annoying! |

Re: Help me, oh wisened computer geniuses!!
The reason that happens is because it's a link directly to the media source file, that is the default setting, or else there's the setting to play the file in an imbedded browser player. The ways I mentioned are the only ways to get around this.

Re: Help me, oh wisened computer geniuses!!
No, it didn't used to hapen. I t started happening because I accidentally clicked on a window that popped up, asking if I wanted the Media Player to always open the file at source, or something similar.
The other user accounts on my PC don't do it, either. I thought it was OK, I reset my Media Player- that's where the problem was as opposed to the internet options. But NO, it STILL doesn't download. If anyone can help, PLEEEEEEEEEEASE!!    Last edited by groovemeister; 07-07-2003 at 02:11 PM. |
