Adoption Central



For all you new members:
Adoption is about gaining a friend and guardian. Your adopter will help you out when you're in trouble, give you advice on how to act on the boards and be a good friend overall. Trust your adopter, listen to what he/she tells you and follow the advices you're given. If you find yourself in trouble and don’t know what to do, just talk to your adopter. If you feel wrongfully accused of breaking the rules, ask your adopter for support.

For those interested in becoming adopters;
Adopting a new member is a great responsibility. Not only are you to act as a suportive friend at all times, you are also to teach this newbie how to behave on the forums and make sure they stay out of trouble. You shape the forum users of the future! So, before you aply to become an adopter, think it through. Are you able to be online often and help your newb whenever needed? Can you keep a friendly tone even if your newbie doesn't understand the first times and needs more help?
Will you protect your newbie if it gets in trouble, no matter what? And can you set a good example for your newb?



~~ RULES ~~


~ Adoptees ~

• Member from 1 day to 2 months/If you're still very uncertain about what ZU is and how it works.
• Request to be adopted here and tell a bit about yourself

~ Adopters ~

• Member for at least 3 full months. (Join on January 1st, you get to aply on April 1st.)
• Minimum of 50 posts.
• In order to adopt, send Aex a PM where you explain why you want to be an adopter and why you think you’re suited for it. Name the PM “Why I want to adopt” or something similar.
• Once the PM is recieved, they'll look it through. If they find you suited for adoption (this is judged by your behavior on the boards), you can go ahead and adopt.
• If they for some reason think you are not suited for adoption, they will let you know why, so you can change and maybe be able to adopt later. If you're rejected by one mod, do not go to the other and ask. If we notice this happening, you'll be rewarded with a warning and your right to adopt will be removed.
• You’re only able to adopt one newb every two weeks. If there's a lot of new members and no one that offerst adoption, you may take more than so. Use common sense.
• Maximum of 3 newbies/adopter. Don't take more newbies than you can handle.
• Newbies are not toys. Think of them as little forum users.
• Guard your newbie, help him/her out and be a good parent.

~ Chat ~

• When you want to be adopted, say so in this thread.
• When you have been approved of adopting, say so in this thread.
• When you want to show that you're still available for Adoption/Adopting, you might, in some cases, post in this thread. No ranting though, please.
• When you feel that your newb is ready to take on the world of ZU on its own, say so in this thread
• When you want to joke around or chat with your new member, use PM.
• When you want to talk to someone in this thread, use PM.
• Please ONLY use this thread for informing, no chat.

Ah, how convenient that the moment I get approved Adoption Central 2 is born. An omen? We'll see…

I'm open for adoptees now. I only have two, so I can accept two more. I will check this thread later.

I'm Releasing sjr12, because 1) she hasn't been here in a while, and 2) if she does come back, I'm confident sahe knows enough to be on her own.

So I'm now free to adopt.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I now release Skull Kid Dude, he seems able to browse ZU easily now - so I'm open again.

Um, I know this seems weird, but the truth is I have only been on this forum since december. I joined up but in october and never found out there WAS a forum on this site. Anyways I don't know if I should be adopted or not... I have gotten some banner problems lately.

Can Lioness please approve me to adopt? I've been waiting for more than a month for her to come back.
EDIT: I'll tell why. Because I really want to take a newb under my wing and teach them all I know about ZU, which is quite a lot.

Hey Fierce_DeityII. I'll adopt you if you want. I was recently approved to adopt , so I'm not the most experienced but I'll do my best. So, uh, PM me if you want me to adopt you, OK.
