Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

Do you all remember the odd Super Mario Bros. 2? How it was much different than Super Mario Bros? And then it was revealed that America got screwed and that Japan got the REAL sequel! Later SMB: The Lost Levels was released, and we finally got the real sequel! Imagine if all along, AOL wasn't going to be the actual sequel, but they switched out games for a retarded reason, and that the REAL Zelda 2 was the original style of game play? What would you guys think if we were all told of this game, and what would you want it to be like?

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

What do you even mean with AOL?
And the Legend of Zelda series are all the same, if you check the Japanese versions.

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

I see what your saying, It would be cool if there was a lost chapters Zelda game. It seems that happened for several game series, I think (if I remember correctly) Final Fantasy also had something similar happen which is way there is a discrepancy in the sequel numbers.?

Hum maybe AOL in the LOZ style... That would be weird...

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

Actually, we do have something like "Zelda: The Lost Levels". The BS Zelda games. Of course those aren't any harder than the original games, but still it's something worth to check out.

Yeah, like the 2nd quest on Zelda 1 was Zelda 2. That'd be something neat.

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

Funny you should mention it, I am just now finishing up my remake of AoL done in the original LoZ style with ONLY LoZ graphics. Unfortunately, I can't replicate the bosses from AoL, so I've had to use standard LoZ bosses. But I'm almost done. If anyone wants to play it, let me know.

The reason I started making it was because I was sorely disappointed with AoL for its dramatic difference in gameplay style and always wished it had been more like LoZ or ALttP . . . so I decided to make it that way for myself.

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

I can see where you are going on this.

If it were to be true, i guess i wouldn't be too upset over it. Yes, i would be disappointed by this but i would then know that they would release it over here on the VC so we could all play it, like they did with Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels.

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

As long as i got to play the so called "true" sequel to LoZ then i would be happy. I still dont think AoL is that bad of a game. We all have that one odd relative in the family dont we? but we love em all the same.

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

I grew up on LoZ and AoL, and I love 'em both the same. I can beat AoL in about 2 hours from start to finish. No joke. That's how much I played it and loved it.

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

Famicom games are listed online. We would know if there was a Zelda "1.5"

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

Silly Cukeman, this isn't literal. He's just saying WHAT IF there had been such a thing, what would it be like?

Since this discussion came up, I've been working on my Adventure of Link remake a bit more. I'm really busy with other projects, but this discussion makes me want to finish it. I'm about halfway done.

Anyone wanna play it when I finish it?

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

Of course. How smooth is the gameplay? Is it as slick as an emulation of LoZ, or is it made on a hand-me-down game maker?

Re: Legend of Zelda: The Lost Levels

It would be more adequated if AOL was classified as a 'lost chapter' considering the differences of the game's mechanics if compared to the series customary style... and a direct sequel to LOZ would be warmly accepted... if occurred on that time...
