Choices

On the wii, the internet channel is now updated and is free. They said to those know already paid the 500 points for it can get a free NES can worth 500 points. So which would be a better choice, The original or the second one? I think the original would be better but what do you think?

Re: Choices

I take it you've played neither?

It depends on one major factor, really:
Do you enjoy punishment?

If yes, download the Adventure of Link.

Zelda 2? I heard that that game wasn't that good. That is was the worse next to the CD-i games.

If you mean the free game, ninteno will offer that at the end of October. Of you mean the update, go to the wii shop and channels. Go to the internet channel and update for 0 points.

People dislike it because it's so different. It's got platforming, a lives system, a combat focus, and RPG leveling. It's kind of like Metroid or Castlevania with way harder combat and a not-so-good save system.
Also it's really discouragingly hard. Hence, "Do you enjoy punishment?"

Those people are wrong, by the way, FSA on one-player was the worst (not counting CD-i).

Re: Choices

Zelda II doesn't suck, the thing is that since it has side-scrolling action people's
immediate reaction is "This is an action game, therefore I don't have to think"
then they get owned.

Yes it IS action, but you have to strategically plan your magic usage in conjunction
with your attack methods to succeed. 'Cause if you think you can zip through this
game by wildly slashing your sword, then this game will chew you up and spit you out.

Re: Choices

Adventure of Link outshines Legend of Zelda in almost every way. The only aspect that pushes people away is that it is a fairly punishing game.

Re: Choices

Here's an idea.

Get an NES game that doesn't suck.

Seriously, the first two were new and exciting for their time, but now, they're just difficult and boring. The franchise they belong to means nothing.

Re: Choices

If you have your heart set on a zelda game then i suggest the first one. Its challenging around dungeon 5 and is really addicting. If it can be any game i suggest a kirby game or a mario game. theyre good too.

Re: Choices

If you don't go Zelda, I'd pick Ninja Gaiden, it's hard but awesome

Re: Choices

Going from how you said that the dark world from LttP was hard in the "which Zelda is hardest" thread, I'm guessing Adventure of Link would cause you to spontaneously combust.

I recommend the Legend of Zelda, though I personally find AoL to be more fun.
