Re: Zelda: A Link to The Past No Damage Challenge

XD I would already be done if I didn't have a crappy recorder. =/ I try to do it and since it keeps lagging the game, I get hit easier and all of Link's attacks are delayed. =/ I really want a better recorder. XD I've also tried doing this on my laptop but the recorders also lag on it and the laptop has a better graphics card than my desktop. =p I'm just going to have to get used to the whole lag thing and try beating it like that. XD

Also, Shaian.... I tried that and it still lags. =[ Thanks for trying to help though. I'm thinking about just playing it on the T.V. and just recording it with my camera. It has a record feature. Only thing is I have to get a tripod to keep it in place the whole time. XD

If I could suggest it... try doing what PeTeRL90 does on YouTube.

Well, while he does the walkthrough, he also provides his own commentary for it. To some people, just watching the game being played is boring, the commentary provides extra entertainment and some insight into what the player is thinking.

You can't get the Cane of Byrna without any damage unless if you own the magic cape first.

i agree with him, giving comments on your vid makes it more interesting, and keeps the viewer from skipping some scenes. =D

Re: Zelda: A Link to The Past No Damage Challenge

I'll try to get a microphone so I can do the commentary thing. =] Sadly I can't do it now because I don't own one but in future videos, I'll definitely try that out. That's a great suggestion though and I'm happy you brought it up. I've also found a decent recorder thanks to PeTeRL90.
It still lags but it's playable now and I just got finished uploading the first section of the game. Since the game is lagging, it took me like 20+ minutes just to get past the castle.

Anyways, heres the link to my video's.

http://www.youtube.com/user/midnafan3

I only have three video's up for now....... The reason why is it takes forever to do the game with the lag and also it takes forever to upload onto youtube. XD

Seriously, it took me 30 minutes to get the first video up. =p Anyways, I'll have more videos up by tomorrow. =]

[EDIT] Tell me if the second video shows up also. It should be titled
"Midnafan1's ALtTP No Damage Challenge Part 1 Section 2"
The reason why I'm bringing this up is because I'm not seeing it. =/
[/EDIT

Anyways, before I do that, let me share my experience at MEPS. Basically, think of a DMV and then think of hell as a DMV. Now multiply that by how many retards are working there. Now divide by five and you get MEPS. It was the single most bull♥♥♥♥ thing I've ever had to go through. I woke up at 3:30AM Went and ate a tiny breakfast and then I got on the shuttle. The shuttle took like 40 minutes to get to the MEPS base and when we got there, we waited for an hour before we got our paperwork. Yadda Yadda Yadda go take a Physical Yadda Yadda do a duck walk. All in all, I was at this place for 14 hours straight. =/ Sitting down and getting up over and over again.
Yeah, this place was hell. Anyways, I'm done and I'm happy to be home. However, I can't wait to get out into basic training.
Hope you enjoyed your first glimpse into the military lifestyle. What AFSC did you sign for? How's your physical fitness? I could go on and on, but as amazing as a "No Hit Challenge" would be--maybe you should be focusing on things to prepare yourself for being in the military. MEPS is the least of your concerns now and there'll be more BS along the way. Waiting for an hour? Waking up at "Oh-Dark-Thirty" isn't uncommon--especially when you get to BMT. Not to flame you or anthing, but, you're doing alot of whining--that **** isn't going to fly come BMT, Tech School, and the Operational AF. 14 straight hours...gimme a break, wait until your first deployment; I can promise you'll pull ATLEAST 12 hr shifts...you can toss the "=/" face in when you've hit 16-18 hr shifts--did those manytimes.
Finally, you think MEPS is hell? You've got another thing coming my friend. But hey, congrats on taking your first step into being in the USAF; we don't take just anybody, so you must've scored well on your ASVAB. Oh, one last thing...show some respect for the NCOs, SNCOs, and Officers working there; they're only doing their job of making sure you're clear and fit to enter Active Duty (or AFR/ANG).

Don't be offended by what I said, you'll need thick skin to handle the constant ribbing here, just trying to fill you in on things, namely, the military is a "hurry up and wait" organization. So you were given a glimpse as to how we operate as a joint-force. But, honestly, if you have any questions about BMT and depending on what AFSC you picked about Tech School, and of course the Operational AF, just shoot me a message and I'll fill you in. Again, take what I said with a grain of salt....just meant to mentor you and there'll be alot of mentoring/molding going on throughout your career...best of luck to you in your future AF career! Actually, once piece of advice for BMT...please make sure you can do the MINIMUM for Pushups, Situps, and the run...also, DO NOT show up with a "military haircut" OR an AF shirt on. Finally, be sharp, fast, and loud when drilling or responding to your DIs....

That is all, carry on.

P.S. Good luck with that challenge; I could never do it.

Re: Zelda: A Link to The Past No Damage Challenge

Hmm... Quite a challenge.

Beating it without being damaged and without restarting when hit is probably way too hard, even I wouldn't try it (and believe me, I have played Zelda pretty much...).

To allow restarts makes it all very interesting and possible, but still hard. I know that you won't be able to beat the Four Sword boss without getting hit, so skip it, as you said earlier.

I'm actually pretty descent at the four swords dungeon. =]
The only reason I choose not to include it in the challenge is because it wasn't in the original........ This is progressing a lot slower than I thought it would go though. Due to recorder issues. Apparently the last video I recorded didn't save because I didn't have enough space on my hard drive. =/ What I'm going to consider doing is just restarting the whole thing after I get a huge external hard drive.......... That way I can do it all in one sitting and then just cut the video into parts like that...... To be honest, I'm not really proud of my first three videos........ They suck huge balls. XD

Also, I'm considering playing the SNES version for the simple fact that it seems to run smoother for me than the GBA port.

Anyways, things have been busy here....... I've been trying to keep in shape for the air force and my dad is a flea market hound that always requires my help. So basically, I don't have that much time to do the challenge but I do get little breaks every now and then to get on ZU and to attempt to continue the challenge. =]

What got me really mad was I also recorded me playing through the whole ALtTP game last Sunday, that way I can make it into a video walkthrough, but it didn't record because there wasn't enough space. =[

That sucks, Midnafan. If I may ask, how do you enter the Four Sword dungeon?

I was only able to enter through glitching the game.

I looked around a little and apparently in order to enter it normally, you have to beat the Four Sword game that was on the same file.

I'd rather see someone finish it with only three hearts instead. I've seen Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask. But not A Link to the past.

Well, who said he was getting the heart containers? He might might doing a no damage challenge with only three hearts. If he doesn't take damage, what difference does it make?
