AoL Town names?

I haven't gotten far enough to find out but I've noticed that at least the first 3 towns are named after sages in OoT. Is this just a coincidenc or is there some 'meaning' behind this?

When Nintendo made OoT, they purposely named the Sages after towns in AoL. Timeline theorists love to use stuff like that as proof.....

No coincedence. They named the OoT Sages after AoL towns.

In the storyline, the towns were named after them, as Aonuma clearly stated.

The towns Saria, Rauru, Nabooru, Darunia, and Ruto all share names with sages. Impa, the final sage, does not have a town name in Adventure of Link, as she is already a character in the plotline.

Mido is a random kokiri child. Kasuto, however, is never again mentioned. (Haters!)

Yes, there is a connection. Many theorists believe that the towns were named after the sages, thus placing Adventure of Link far after Ocarina of Time in their timelines.
