LoZ LTTP Text help

Hi all

I am currently in the process of completing my own, revamped LoZ LTTP. I have my own customs, different item placements, palettes and all that, but the only thing whats missing is the text.....

Now I have the text editor and I registered all the modules correctly. It loads, the text banks work, all is in order, but when I try and assign my custom text to it, I get a runtime 13 error 'type mismatch'. Now I've searched, and all that comes up is a XPO SP3 fix, Outlook express fix and some other garbage I dont need. Does anybody else use zse10? If so, and you suffered the same problem but have a solution I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me.

N.B Hotfixes will not work with this. I dont use OE 2003, nor XPO, and there the only hotfixes available.

Btw, I own the original cart, and I ripped the rom from the cart So no laws are being broken. Modification of the original game data cannot be held against me either, because if you dropped it off a bridge it would do the same and seeing as Im using it as a private rom, nothing untoward is being done. )

Thank you very much

You don't know how wrong this paragraph is >_>...

Anyway, your problem is with programming, right? Or not? It certainly sounds like it, but the ZSE part kinda threw me off.
If it's with programming there might be a few people here who can help, me included.

Re: LoZ LTTP Text help

It's true, ROMs are legal if you rip them yourself for a back-up copy

Actually, it's not true. I used to think this, too.

Re: LoZ LTTP Text help

Nintendo discourages it, but read the fine text in Nintendo manuals
(it says a back-up copy is allowed but not necessary)

There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic.
So, yeah. It is legal to own a rom that you ripped yourself. Roms are legal if you own the game, but you can't distribute them. Not sure where you got your info, but this is Nintendo's page, so if anyone is going to be hostile towards emulation, it's them. (However I would still like to try your Zelda mod when its done!)

After reading that, I guess that it is legal if you rip the rom yourself, but the bolded part is still illegal. Read what you quoted again.

Also... AdBlack?
