I'll choose the latter for the sake of clearing up a misconception about this game.

If you save the game anywhere in AoL and you turn off the system and come back later, you will start off at the North Tower where Zelda is sleeping, but you will retain all items, spells, hearts, magic containers, and levels that you acquired before coming back to the game.

Sounds to me like your save system worked fine but you simply didn't notice.
Your not kidding?

And yeah I WAS being serious. I honestly did not know that...

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

It was just basically annoying. Nothing too hard, but challenging.

Annoying parts include when you die, you restart from the beginning and have to re-acquire your XP again (luckily not the levels you are at)

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

Yes it is... at least compared to other NES games such as battletoads... the learning curve is also acceptable... save for some wonky controls and jogability... and the bosses much like every other Zelda title... don't offers enough challenge.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

I hate how you have to start all the way from the very beginning after you die. Great game but the challenges it packs can keep you up at night for more reasons then I can bother to mention.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

I don't know, I don't think I will ever end this game... I hate those cheap deaths, like in the NES Castlevania games. You know,

"Awesome, let's jump this cliff!
OH MY GOD THERE'S AN OCTOROK THERE
*falls to death*"
