Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?
There are people who don't think this game is great it is worthy to be Zelda and that is all I care about. I play it on my Zelda Collectors Edition.

It wasn't that hard... I beat it back when it originally came out on the NES. It took about a week of playing it. Now, I can probably beat it in a single sitting.
I did like the more RPG-esque features added in with side scrolling adventure. If you liked ZELDA II... you might also try The Battle of Olympus for GameBoy... basically the same game.

Once you beat it a couple times you learn the strategy, when to cast shield, when to cast life,
the only real challenge is not falling into a pit

I played it for a while, and quit. I couldn't even get to the one temple. I bought it from a friend and continued his save game, and every time I was about to exit a cave, a mace-swinging enemy killed me. I coldn't avoid him. And yeah, it IS extremely hard.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?
I really like this game. I'd say it hard up until the point that you get the life spell and the hammer, which is the only thing that takes me a couple of tries and gets a bit fustrating. But once I have the hammer and can get to Midi port town to get the downward sword technique the game gets really easy to just pogo jump your way over the enemies you don't want to fight.
I just started a replay of this game this morning and am already at the 5th palace. I think its hard for the ones that haven't played it before. Once you know the little tricks its fairly easy to breeze your way through. A lot of it is all in the timing. So don't give up on it, and you'll find it is a fun and rewarding game. ![]()

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?
The game is painfully hard when you're a kid but you usually have a lot of time when you're young, so most youngsters (including me) managed to beat it.
I must say that it is a lot easier to play now with the very comfortable WaveBird controller (Stupid NES controller made my fingers hurt like crazy) and I find the game to be a lot easier now for some reason. So yeah, I'd say it's pretty easy for me. It's still harder than the other Zeldas though.

I'm still a big fan of this game. It gives just the right amount of challenge while keeping itself unique from the other games. Just because it doesn't conform to what a Zelda game "should be" doens't make it a bad game.
I grew up on this game. It was actually the first Zelda game I owned and beat. Nowadays I can beat the game in about 2 hours from start to finish with no deaths. Easy.

Thunderbird is hard unless you're good at 2d platforming. Play some Megaman and then you'll be more than ready for AoL.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?
I remember having this game for the GC in the Collector's Edition, and I outrighted hated it. Not because the game sucked or whatever, but because, for some idiotic reason, the save system wasn't working properly, so even when I'm halfway in the first level and "save" and quit. I start out at that temple where Zelda is sleeping. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME!!!

I'll choose the latter for the sake of clearing up a misconception about this game. ![]() If you save the game anywhere in AoL and you turn off the system and come back later, you will start off at the North Tower where Zelda is sleeping, but you will retain all items, spells, hearts, magic containers, and levels that you acquired before coming back to the game. Sounds to me like your save system worked fine but you simply didn't notice. ![]()

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?
I could never beat this one...and believe me, I tried, on both NES and GBA. to this day I still have not gotten past the swamp after the first temple. ><
I guess I should give it another shot...now that I have three copies of it XD
