Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

Yep. This game was really challenging. To be honest, I read a strategy guide to finish it.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

The one thing that would have made this game a billion times more fair is the ability to gain health back in the same way you gain magic- there are like 7 fairies hidden throughout the game, and if you are in a dungeon you have little to no chance of healing aside from using 'Life' magic and then restocking magic and doing it again.

BUT because it is so grinding and unfair, it does make that moment of seeing Thunderbird explode ten gajillion times more sweet. The only game in the Zelda series that truly makes you feel a hardcore gamer for defeating... even if it takes a hundred game overs...

My dad didn't think it was hard at all. He said it was easy.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

I wasn't really a huge fan of Zelda II, but I guess it was pretty challenging. I suck at the 8-bit Zelda games, horribly. I died 4 times in the first dungeon, I didn't know you had to use the sword at full health, I thought when he moved out towards the middle of the room you had to hit him from behind.

If you want to have fun with your dad call his bluff on this one. Make him prove it to you.

I'm not going to make him play the game and I have to watch it the whole time and I would be bored. Also he works all day; I'm not going to make him play something when he works all day.

You're thinking of this the wrong way.......It could be a win/win situation for you.
Scenario #1-You call your dads bluff and make a bet with him on beating the game. His ego takes over and he agrees(doesn't have to be after he's worked all day, that is what weekends are for). Somehow, the game is harder then he remembers(I have a feeling those will be his exact words) and bam!!! you have yourself a new game or whatever it is you bet....courtesy of your dad.

Scenario#2-You call your dads bluff and he waltzes right through the game(I doubt this will be the case). He brags about how good he is and you have to agree. In the end, your father is greatful for the fun you guys had together and gets you the new game, or whetever, anyway.

There are ways to play the system.....and this is one you could use to YOUR advantage.......

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

I thought the game was pretty cool, but very hard. I did like some of the sword and shield fighting, though. When you would battle a knight it got really intense and challenging because his shield would be blocking somewhere and you would have to hit him were it wasn't blocking. I thought it was pretty nice for a game at that time.

I think I know what he's talking about when he says it's easy. And I want to know why I would get a new game out of this. He beats the game and he says oh I'm going to get you a game. Yeah, that sounds unrealistic.

It's a game that bothered me from the start, I've never finished it. I guess I should someday.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

Yes this game is very difficult, I personally think Death Mountain is the hardest area in the game. Beating Dark Link is very rewarding, cause when you do, you can say, "I BEAT THE GAME!" The dungeons themselves are hard, but the bosses aren't too bad once you learn their patterns.

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

Level ups were the hardest for me, because I would get so close then I would lose all my lives and all the experience is gone....

Starting at the stupid North Castle bothers me a lot too. I haven't finished the game yet but I have a feeling that when I get the flute it will be a lifesaver.

Once I have to destroy the spider I can't process any further. I could not beat this game without cheats.

Wasn't AoL ranked as number 9 on GT's hardest games?

AoL was hard for me when I first played but I quickly managed to get really good. Especially after finding out the uber cool jump and slash as you come down on Ironknuckle trick!

Re: Is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link easy for anyone?

My friend recently bought the game and I have been playing it as he has been playing other games. I'm about halfway through it, and it hasn't been particularly hard. There are a couple times where I wouldn't know where the object was to see the wise man, but half the time I would already have whatever I needed without realizing it. It can be frustrating dying at inopportune moments, and fighting your way to the boss over and over again can be a pain, but overall it's not so much hard as time-consuming. I do love everything about it (except starting from the castle every time). The leveling is nice because I always feel good leveling up and being able to kill something faster, and the side-scrolling is the best part of the whole game. It makes it so much fun! The save system was only alright, though. You couldn't save quickly in the middle of the game, so you couldn't stop quickly or just quick save after you did something and just continue, you'd have to suicide a few times, go back to the opening screen, and start the game over. But otherwise I love it and it's not that hard.
