Pink hair?

why does Link (in AlttP) have pink hair?
on he's Official artwork he has blond hair
Why

because back then(1991) the graphics engine was WAY weaker than this days, Nintendo couldn't make the yellow color for Link's Hair.

yeah zelda had blonde hair so i don't see why link can't

When Link is making his wish before he enters the second dungeon, he takes his hat off and his head is still pink.

Try again. Zelda had blond hair and a plain blue dress in official art (the original, not GBA), but her in game sprite had brown hair (like the first two Zelda's) and the dress she has in all the games after ALttP.

Besides, Link + pink hair = bad ass.

If this is the answer, then why do some characters has blonde hair?

And parts of the ground is coloured yellow.

Therefore, there must be another reason why his hair is pink.

A sprite has a limit of colors. Just because a certain color is being used somewhere else on the screen, that doesn't mean any other sprite can use it.

On top of that, game's colors are divided into palletes (which I probably spelled wrong), which are when certain colors can only be used with certain other colors.

I second that. I had a Game History course in college and my teacher told us something similar to that. There were only a certain another of colors allowed per sprite.

I wish they'd bring back Link's pink hair. They wouldn't do it in a console game, but it would be cool if Spirit Tracks would have Link with pink hair. I'd be much more excited for the game then.
