ALttP - Three Heart Run?

I've been told that it is possible to do a three heart run in ALttP. But I don't understand.

I decided to replay ALttP (SNES) for a bit, and the Pendent of Virtrue would not appear UNLESS I picked up the heart. I waited for awhile and nothing happened until I grabbed the heart.

And doesn't the old man only give you the Pegasus Boots unless you have four or five heart heart containers?

See, I don't understand how it is possible.

I'd kinda like to know how to do this, myself...unless they changed how things work in the GBA version, I don't see how it's possible, either.

And as far as I know, the only requirement for the Pegasus Boots is the Pendant of Courage. I didn't think the extra hearts were necessary...

The first pendant didn't come at all with me...probably a veeeery bad version of my emu game...yes, i grabbed the heart-piece...container

It doesn't do that with just roms, it does that with the real games.

And I am very sure that the same thing happens in the GBA remake.

As i said, i had a bad rom...you kinda gotta see it to know what im talking about...but i deleted it and downloaded one which worked...did i mention i downloaded the first one 3 days ago?
(I do also got it on GBA, but i cant find it...)

This happens with all ALttP games.

My point is: The Pendant didn't come at all, even when i took the heart container, but it does on my other games...of Alttp...end of disgussion between the Goron Dude and me, ok?

Actually I thought it was a 4 or 5 heart run because you ARE REQUIRED to pick up some hearts... I think... I honestly haven't touched that game in a while, but I believe what you are referring to is the "Minimalist Challenge". Isn't very easy because in the end when you finally fight Gannon, his attacks do like 6 hearts of damage or so. Although it is a fun challenge if you have exhausted all your other fun ^_^

You're required to pick up hearts just to get the Pendents and Crystals.

yes, thats what I thought, but I thought it was only for the pendants, but also in the minimalists quest you have do the death mountain glitch where you skip two dungeons. You also don't get all the weapons, you get like maybe one upgrade to the sword and no upgrades to his tunic. I can't remember it all though...
