If all else fails, use fire!

I never had the pleasure of playing Zelda II, and i've seen that phrase being used multiple times as something amazingly hilarious.

My question being, what's so funny about it?

I don't think the quote is meant to be funny. At least, not when compared to "I am Error." I guess the quote now is legendary, but I do have to admit that the first time I saw it, I kinda chuckled.

because its seemingly random and sounds like bad translation..in reality what the dude means by that is this: If your sword doesnt work or other stuff doesnt work, try the fire spell..

I think it's funny because of the mental image of someone taking that advice literally in real life.

it begs the question: on what?

it's kinda like...if you can't solve the problem, instead of working harder to come to a solution, just torch it. yeah, that'll work. ~laughs~

He really should just set Link on fire.

Someone please tell Ganondorf to do this. All else fails for him...yet he doesn't use fire.

Silly, silly Ganondorf. Knowing Ganondorf, he'll fail to see the sucess he'll have with just setting Link on fire, and he'll still try to take over the world waiting for Link to kill him.

Setting Link on fire won't work. This was proven by the various fire-based bosses Link has pwned throughout the years

Din's fire is the best thing ever. If you can't kill it use dins fire. And yes I'm aware that this is about a fire spell in Zelda 2, but Din's Fire, seriously.

No, use Din's Fire on anything and everything. It will work because either the fire solves your problem, or someone else solves it for you to make you stop the fire. It's win/win!

I just realized: Din's Fire doesn't work on Keese. They become Fire Keese instead, actually making them more dangerous. It's what TV Tropes call "Infernal Retaliation"
